The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
I am fine with the Saints taking Bresee. He didn't impress me much.

I don't see Philly trading out but maybe KC could get out of the first for someone wanting Levis.
Still holding out hope I see Tampa on the clock again. Pointless I know, but a man can hope.

Donna Kelce got the biggest pop of the night.

This script makes me sick.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Damn the Eagles know how to draft. Jealous.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Eagles aren’t complicating this.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Howie Roseman is the best GM in the league and it isn’t close.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
The Eagles always draft players and red shirt them. They don't even need production from Carter or Smith.
Most hated man in America.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
That pass rush has the potential to be the best in history. I think they had 70 sacks last year and now they're even better.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
The Eagles leading the league in sacks apparently wasn't good enough. Good God.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Chiefs pick is in. Levis is gonna be back in the green room tomorrow night.

People gonna talk about Levis, but I’m surprised Brian Branch fell out of the first.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Looking forward to the second round tomorrow. Y'all have a good night.

It's Brett Veach by all stats. Look at their last 3 drafts, it's historically great.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 11:47 pm Howie Roseman is the best GM in the league and it isn’t close.

You know what, I will concede that I was wrong about the not close part. With that said, I still think Howie is the best. The way he rebuilt the team after the 2017 Super Bowl with the Carson Wentz situation being a disaster was masterful.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 11:59 pmIt's Brett Veach by all stats. Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
The Chiefs have drafted 11 quality starters and some of those picks came from trades, plus one of the most team friendly contracts with the best QB in the NFL. I can't say it's anyone else considering their success.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 12:01 amYou know what, I will concede that I was wrong about the not close part. Howie is number 2 for me.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Eagles killed it and Chiefs got a good pass rusher to kid with last years first rounder to end the night.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Funny that many (myself included) largely blamed him for that mess… along with quite a few other messy seasons/situations during his tenure as GM there. It was assumed he had tapes on one the Lauries to even have a job a few years ago.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 12:01 amYou know what, I will concede that I was wrong about the not close part. As said many times about the Eagles lately, winning changes perspective quickly.
He has had a hell of a few years for sure.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
I understand the frustration completely but Levis doesn’t look great sitting there pouting on his phone

They say it's his attitude that rubbed teams the wrong way. But hey talent is talent. Divas still make the Hall.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
I predict Bucs to trade up for QB tomorrow!

I’ve always said Day 1 you go BPA, while Day 2 you attack needs.
We have two major holes at Edge and OT. Gotta attack those positions tomorrow.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
My Remaining Top 19 For Us:
1) Will Levis, QB, Kentucky. Define "Great Risk." He won't be there at 50, and frankly, I don't see OBP being the team that makes the move. Pretty much a pipe dream. But to add a QB this talented without using a first rounder would be a coup.
2) Brian Branch, DB, Alabama. The guy I wanted when we were on the clock. A chess piece defender who compares favorably in some ways to guys like Winfield and Ronde, in terms of instincts and versatility.
3) Matthew Bergeron, OT, Syracuse. I saw every snap he took in college. He's a starting NFL left tackle, Day One. And a good one.
4) Cody Mauch, G, North Dakota State. Instantly the best guard on our roster.
5) Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame. He'll be one of the best third down/end zone contested catch tight ends in the league.
6) Joey Porter Jr, CB, Penn State. I had him as the best pure man cover corner in the draft, and he tackles.
7) Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia. You take the unicorn speed and the RAC explosiveness from Gronk, but keep the size, the strength, the blocking, and the hands, you'd have Washington. And he's no slouch in those other areas.
8) Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas. The big knock on him is, it's tough to come up with a clear comp to his skill set. So?
9) Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State. His tape impressed me more than Johnson's. He throws guys out of the building. Obviously, Wirfs would have to move to the other side, but I don't see that as a bad thing.
10) O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida. A mauling guard to add some physicality to a unit that lacked it last season.
11) BJ Ojulari, EDGE, LSU. Really solid edge rush prospect who physically reminds me of Barrett.
12) Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee. Guys like this have busted in the league, but they can also change the complexion of games also.
13) Trent Simpson, LB, Clemson. A guy I liked at #19 early in the process. Not Dissimilar from LVD coming into the league.
14) Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss. Very similar to AJ Brown. An uber-physical WR who looks and plays like a RB.
15) Blake Freeland, OT, BYU. Another potential Right Tackle in the Moving Wirfs scenario. Unlike Jones, athletic as heck.
16) Steve Avila, G, TCU. Similar to Torrence, a physical left guard prospect who's probably plug and play.
17) Keeanu Benton, DL, Wisconsin. Probably not happening with the Kancey pick, but he'll be a good one for all three downs.
18) Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State. A freaky size/speed athlete who struggled to stay healthy. A good risk at 50, though.
19) J.M. Schmidt, C, Minnesota. Remember when everyone passed on Creed Humphrey?

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Speed on the d-line - I hope we continue. A formidable front four makes things better. Being able to rotate the front three can make the OLB's much better.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
I think Branch ends up a net positive pro for awhile if used correctly. But he’s not the type of talent I would be looking to trade up for. If he’s there when our pick comes up, it’s worth exploring.
I know analytics firms have looked at where the best slot corners are drafted and it’s like 4th to UDFAs. So if that’s what you’re looking for, Maybe you wait.
He’s a great tackler, smart, but physically limited and I don’t think would excel as coverage safety and shouldn’t play outside corner.
If Todd was utterly convinced that he becomes a versatile marauder in this defense, take him.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Is it crazy to think another quarterback like hooker will be drafted ahead of Levis at this point? I don’t think it is.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
Not at all.
QB is even more yes/no than other positions. If teams aren't a fan of Levis they aren't a fan.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Draft Thread
We need to get a OT. Trade up if you have to. Either Bergeron or Jones would do. I think also Mauch has a better chance staying at OT than he’s given credit for. He seems like Licht pick. Also need an Edge and a Nickel.
Kancey was a luxury pick I don’t think we could afford… unless they really are sold on 30 year old Barrett coming back from a knee and current bust JTS righting the ship??
