Re: New York Jets Official Thread
Putting a fork in what started out to be a promising season. Losers of 6 straight, 1-7 since the bye, non existent offense, an improved defense that gave up way too many plays and didn't create a turnover in their last 5 games. Does the future look bright? Not with this staff. But they're not going anywhere this year. If next season doesn't show marked improvement, they'll reboot (yet again).
I appreciate all the comments in here all season from very knowledgeable football fans. Mad respect to you all. I'm not getting any younger. No way of knowing if I'll ever see a very good team. They appear lost.

If your FO can put it's ego aside and sign a veteran QB this offseason the Jets are easily a playoff team. I watched you guys play and thought your team is the definition of a QB away from being a contender.McFan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:24 am Putting a fork in what started out to be a promising season. The league is more fun when the Jets are competitive. The Outsider wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:57 amIf your FO can put it's ego aside and sign a veteran QB this offseason the Jets are easily a playoff team. Every single player on the last Jets team to make the playoffs is retired. One of the QBs on that team is the Vikings current HC.

Yes, Bootz. It's been a long time.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:47 am Every single player on the last Jets team to make the playoffs is retired. One of the QBs on that team is the Vikings current HC.
But I totally remember them being good.
It was Thomas Jones running the ball back then.

No, I recall LT. He spent his last 2 years with the Jets. Had a decent season and played pretty well in the playoffs._MB_ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:50 amYes, Bootz. Re: New York Jets Official Thread
Ah! We gotta split the baby here, @_MB_
Jones was the Jets RB for their 2009 AFC Championship game run then he signed with the Chiefs the next year.
LT was the Jets RB for their 2010 AFC Championship game run and their RB in 2011 before retiring.
Yea like you said, it's been that long.

Oh for Christ's sake. Lawrence Taylor is a drug addict and ephebophile who was convicted of banging a minor prostitute. He gave up any right to being respected to that degree.

Not ashamed to admit I had to google ephebophile. LT was an all time great ON THE FIELD. Off the field, well, you covered that. The Outsider wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 2:06 pm Oh for Christ's sake. I just hate it when you type letters on the keyboard that fail to register on the computer. I know that Sauce meant to type "pursue" but his computer left a letter out. That is why I never make negative comments about typos.
