Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return
Our SoS looks to be easiest of the remaining NFC contenders.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 2:32 pm Excited to be 3-1 considering they haven’t come close to playing their best game. Worried they’re 4 games in and haven’t yet played a solid game.
They didn’t have to deal with multiple injuries like this last year. Hope guys can come back and the team can stay in the hunt for a top seed.
We're 4 games into a 17 game season. Many fans are being irrational.
At the end of the day as long as we're healthy and have Tom Brady in the playoffs I like our chances.
The Super Bowl isn't played in October. This 2021 Bucs team is going to be evaluated based on they play in January.

The thing is, though, what he did was the opposite of "owning up to it". He threw his Doc under the bus after he got caught. Owning up to it is saying "I did something wrong", not "someone else did something wrong that I got in trouble for but I totally take responsibility for that other person's mistake". Now it is certainly possible that this was all his doctor's fault (though very unlikely) but that would be a different case than "owning up to it" as well.Primeminister wrote: ↑Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:40 pmNailed itSnake wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 5:43 pm More NFL players are on PEDs than not. most take sufficient steps to not get caught. The testing isn’t exactly stringent. The league wants doped up athletes. They don’t want 250# guards.
McCoy could’ve made an honest mistake. It’s his personality and brand to own up to it. Good for him. The truth is there isn’t a moral police for the NFL and no one cares.
Nobody gives a shit though. The rules are often incoherent and only occasionally (and sometimes selectively) enforced. And the whole Junkie thing was just a dig at Bootsie.

#1, You copy and pasted this in the wrong thread.
#2, And most importantly, Who the hell are you? I know, chat with, have discussions and disagreements with numerous people. You've never been one of them. You must be delt finally slumbering his ass over here. Welcome prick.

That was my rapid reaction. It wasn't a reply to your post.

Don't tread on me
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return
Did anyone see Lawrence Guy flip (I think) Wirfs like he was 180 lbs? It was after a play was over and I thought man that guy has to be super strong the way it looked.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return
That was Donovan Smith getting thrown out of the club...I mentioned it in the gameday thread.

I halfway wondered if it was an act to try and get a penalty.

Watch it again. Before you click on it, there is Smith standing off by himself and then he goes and plows into the pile (the back of Wirfs legs) and then Wirfs comes flying out.

Momentum or not he got tossed like a rag doll.

I wonder how much Brees made for that little appearance at the game?

That's 2 years in a row a Dlinemen has tossed Wirfs aside with ease.

Hard to tell if that made a difference. But as you said, momentum or not he got tossed like a rag doll.

Considering the weather, place they were playing, opponent, and all the injuries in the secondary, it went as well as can be expected... I do question the "risk it for the biscuit" plays at the end of that last drive though
We only needed 7 yards to keep drive alive!!!!

That’s not very nice of Guy.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 4:51 pmCould've sworn that was 78 and not 76.
Edit: Confirmed. It was Wirfs.
You can see Smith laying on the ground under the pile near the end of the clip

That other lineman was Mack.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 5:44 pm That's 2 years in a row a Dlinemen has tossed Wirfs aside with ease.

And Mack did it in the context of a play. This dude was getting in his extracurriculars.Primeminister wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 11:43 pmThat other lineman was Mack.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 5:44 pm That's 2 years in a row a Dlinemen has tossed Wirfs aside with ease.
All in all, I am not disappointed that we can count on two fingers both reps where our second year player didn't look stellar.

Yup. Wirfs has been hip tossed twice, after the play was over. Otherwise, he's given up one sack in his career and that was to Khalil Mack.
Anyone have a problem with Wirfs?
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return
Nope. In all likelihood he will end up one of the best offensive lineman to ever suit up for the Buccaneers if he stays healthy. One can certainly argue that he’s already up there based on his performance during the Super Bowl runTerry Tate wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 1:42 amYup. Where's tog? Unlock tog! tog talk football too...Nobody wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:47 pm We're 3-1 and we've played bad football through 4 games.
I'll take it.
If you're going to have a run of injuries, its best to have them early in the year. Guys can rally around each other and guys who wouldn't play can get some meaningful experience. It also makes Bowles have to grind. Its almost impossible to suss out the signal of a game in a complete downpour, but this was definitely his best called game thus far. Hopefully that continues.
