Welcome SirvoceaDennis is willing to take chances, which can lead to feast or famine results. He’s a smart player with outstanding play recognition and instincts that help him play faster than his timed speed. He’ll beat blockers to the spot on plays flowing over the offensive tackle, but he’s unable to withstand a downhill challenge from climbing blocks on a consistent enough basis. Dennis’ special teams potential aids his chances of becoming an NFL backup, but he doesn’t have size or athleticism that stands out and needs to put together a solid pre-draft workout.

Hey Licht, if you want to draft an undersized LB, Henry To'oo'to'oo was right there and has better speed and a better pedigree than this guy!! And a bit more size too!!

Can play STs and maybe start eventually. With White and David’s tenure here possibly ending soon for both, LB depth was needed
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Sounds like a STS player that should have been a udfa. Since the end of first round, it feels like Licht has been drafting guys a round or two early.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
We’re taking a lot of guys with weird names. Caligula, Yaya, Sirvocea…too bad we didn’t get To’totoo’oo.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Will this guy be more disciplined than White? Interesting to see what happens with White.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Dennis would show up a lot on Kancey tape. OBP also noticed. You get some much much needed ILB depth but more importantly, an ideal guy to groom for the starting role. Great instincts and first step, he can cover, blitz, and tackle. He has a fast processor.
You know this guy was a target for us, Licht hinted as much himself after Day 1.
I really really hate to do this, I do, but when you look at him and his teammate Kancey, both are being called "small", both measure in almost exactly the same as two guys from our 1995 draft.

Awww how cute. We're in that phase of saying how great everyone in the draft will be despite knowing more than half won't pan out.

Indeed.
Well for one what this class lacked in superstars it more than made up for with a fat mid section. Plenty of our late rounds guys were being given lots of love prior to the draft. The thing I'm loving the most about this draft class is that a lot of them fell for something they can't really control, size and length. Meanwhile things they can control, play, study, hustle, and technique, are all really freaking high.

His film is solid and his grading is all good. I just don't understand why this organisation falls in love with poor athletes at LB who are thumpers that can't cover. It's 2023. It's a passing league . KJ Britt and now this guy.
The upside is so limited. He's going to have to make a living blitzing which puts more pressure on our DB's. At least he doesn't run 4.7 like KJ Britt. But he's not that much faster. Slight upgrade but don't see starting upside.

If you came away with "poor athlete who can't cover", I don't think you were watching the right player.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
How we feeling about Sirvocea?
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
He's played like 4 minutes.

Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Thought he flashed several times against Indy. Was going to make a post in the game thread about him and then I think he promptly missed an assignment. Glad he’s getting some run. He’ll be a starter next year.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Reminds of when Barber started. Okay, maybe that's not a good thing but maybe it is.
Re: Welcome Sirvocea Dennis
Dennis dealt with a groin, a hamstring, and "illness" this season. probably other things I'm forgetting too.
I think free agency and the draft will reflect on OBP's faith of him getting on track and contributing next season.
