I think it is more of a mutual thing. We are all cursed and so are the Buccaneers.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 12:06 pmI'm not sure now.. Either I am cursed or have just caused the Bucs to be.

Naw. Cursed teams don't win 2 SBs.13F11B wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 12:13 pmI think it is more of a mutual thing. We are all cursed and so are the Buccaneers.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 12:06 pm

These are the cursed teams: Cardinals, Falcons, Bills, Panthers, Bengals, Browns, Lions, Texans, Jaguars, Chargers, Vikings, and Titans.
These teams are doubly cursed because they've never even been to the SB: Browns, Lions, Jaguars, and Texans.
Don't tread on me

According to FOX Sports reporter Ben Arthur, the Titans might cut QB Malik Willis with Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis on the roster
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I'd be kinda surprised, just because he's young with some upside and he's dirt-cheap for three more years. You're going to cut him and just fill the stop with a (likely) less talented UDFA for similar money.
Unless, of course, he's just atrociously bad and/or decided to be a turd now that Levis took his QBOTF status.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I know it hasn’t been the best 12 months for Kyler Murray, but I feel like he’s being written off entirely. I find this very strange. Kliff Kingsbury is objectively terrible and he’s been his head coach his entire career. Kyler never respected him, but maybe he was just ahead of the curve…

The Jags win.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
2 things.
1. No way we're as bad as the Cards.
2. Kyler Murray has a dead cap hit of $81mil+ if he's cut or traded next offseason. The Cards are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
After doing some research - it seems the only player we have signed is Kurt Warner's kid.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
We don't know if Gannon can coach yet.
We do know Bowles can't.
It's possible.

Stop excusing ignorance for innocence.
That's a bad bad roster. Kingsbury wasn't any good but that roster was bad. Murray won't be available until at least October or November.

This is a good roster?
This is a bad roster coached by a lousy coach and unlike the Cardinals, at no point in the season will we have a competent quarterback.
Yeah, we might win a game or two more that's true. The idea that we're going to be head and shoulders better than anyone with the Bowles/Mayfield combination....nah.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Damn…going under us at 6.5 is tempting. I don’t know how we’re going to even get to 4 wins. I guess a couple within the division is possible…but damn….winning more than 6.5 with Bowles as our HC and his favorite qb Baker? Getting to 7 wins is as likely as the Cardinals and Texans facing off in the SB.Snake wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 4:57 pm This new article has wins over/under at….

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
We have Jensen, Wirfs, Evans, Godwin, White, and Mayfield on offense. Vea, LVD, White, Barrett, AWJ, Davis, Dean, and Neal on defense. That's better talent than the Cards have on both sides of the ball. This is not a bad roster. We have players that haven't played to their talent like Mayfield and White. But let's not act like we don't have a lot more talent, and I believe that was @Bootz point.MJW wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 5:05 pmThis is a good roster?

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Why are the pundits thinking the Bucs will be so bad next season? Is it because of the QB's? Is it the Offensive line? Is it the HC? Is it the GM? Probably a combination of all of the above.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I think the horrible offensive performance with the GOAT and going to Mayfield or Trask along with reshuffling and rebuilding the OL is the biggest reason. No offense means the defense will have to carry us, and we know Bowles no risk it no biscuit blitzing is going to give up some easy scores. So questionable timing on the DC side at times, ongoing POOR communication in our secondary, plus a change of historically bad offense. Now if our OL performs well running the Seahawks offense, and Baker takes care of the ball this will be completely different team. If not, well....Look I believe that Trask is not necessarily trash but the fact they kept saying "Yeah let's keep Gabbert AND Griffin on the practice squad" does NOT give me hope.

You want me to say we have a more talented 53 than the Cardinals do? Okay. Who cares?kaimaru wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 6:23 pmWe have Jensen, Wirfs, Evans, Godwin, White, and Mayfield on offense. You want me to say that means we're going to win so many more games than them that it's insulting we're being mentioned together? Hell no.

2) HC
3) QB
4) OL
5) Secondary
6) QB
7) Lack of pass rush
Oh yeah…and did I mention qb?

It can be even simpler. Here's a short list:Navybuc wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 7:28 pm1) QBGreatTimes wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 6:23 pm Why are the pundits thinking the Bucs will be so bad next season? That's a complete list of all the good teams in recent memory with a coach as bad as Todd Bowles and a QB as bad as Mayfield.

Missing $75m worth of talent from the roster. Aka 33% of the cap.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
We're not going to scare anybody but we could overachieve into a winning season.
I'd be elated with that.
Yes. Leftwich was that bad.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I’ve seen more than one analyst end their tampa bay projection with (paraphrase):
“in conclusion, this Tampa team should be bad. But there’s an outside shot at 9-10 wins because the division is so bad, the tb defense should be good, and they plan on playing ball control offense.”
I think that’s a 90% projection and would require a lot of health luck + turnover differential. But the weak division helps.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
We know QB is looking more likely not solved than solved right now. But here's the thing, that's so for any team without an established QB. That includes shiny first round saviors. I don't understand why it's okay to have hope then but not now. You saw how "the greatest QB class ever" went. Our own "Tank for Winston" messiah.
Yeah, there's like a 1/5 chance we have something, but honestly it's like 1/4 for the Panthers and Colts. It's like that every time you don't have an known guy yet. It's the game. It's going to play out regardless. You can't fast forward. Don't get what's wrong with trying to see possible ways pieces can fall into place.
The 2007 Giants were mid af. Go check them out. 2011 too. But you know what, you get hot at the right time, play your best ball for 3 games, anything can happen. Also, papers champs rarely win. Saying "we're not winning the super bowl" isn't brave, its literally 31/32 true every year.
