The same was true for Trent Baalke until it wasn't.
They were in the NFCCG last year so it seems like "it wasn't" is a ways off. It's one of the top three rosters in the league and they're winning a shit ton of games. I have no idea what 49ers fans are complaining about. It confounds me.

Yea, let's pretend as if Baalke's Niners didn't make 3 consecutive NFCCGs and a Superbowl as well. Remember the "Harbaugh Bowl"??

Lynch is following a similar arch to Baalke, deny all you'd like.
Baalke got 6 years as Niners GM, went 51-44-1. Lynch has had 6 years and has a 52-46 record.

Baalke had a 5-3 playoff record.
Lynch has a 6-3 playoff record.

Baalke had 2 division titles.
Lynch has 2 division titles.

Both had 3 NFCCG appearances in 3 seasons. Both went 1-2 in those games. Both lost their lone SB appearance.

It seems "it wasn't" is exactly right.

Niners fans know when they've reached their peak and when it becomes time to move on. That time is inching closer.

It may be true but nobody is going to know "it wasn't" usually until the year after "it wasn't"

Fans generally want to ride that wave of possiblity until it's obvious it's over

The Bucs did not face a starting offense or defense this preseason. What really worries me is how a Ravens 2nd string offense went through the Bucs starting defense like a hot knife through butter on their opening drive.

He's done, right?
The Colts are moving on from a former first-round pick.

Indianapolis is releasing receiver Breshad Perriman, according to multiple reports.

Perriman signed with the Colts in June. He caught four passes for 34 yards during the preseason.

A Baltimore first-round pick back in 2015, Perriman has appeared in 80 games with 25 starts for the Ravens, Browns, Buccaneers, and Jets. Last season he caught nine passes for 110 yards with a touchdown in 11 contests for Tampa Bay.

San Fran won, what, 12, 13 games and played in the NFCCG. With Mr. Irrelevant at quarterback.
We went below .500 and lost by 90 points in the WC game at home. With Tom Brady at quarterback.
These two things are not the same.

John Lynch has had a ton of high-profile misses. That's undisputable.

At the same time, you are what your record is.
To this point, Baalke & Lynch have been identical in their performance.

I saw on Twitter that Jaylen Waddle was trending. I've been laughing for about 10 minutes straight.

Jim Irsay is so unserious its ridiculous. Just pay Taylor and be done with it. You could do a hell of a lot worse than paying a guy who will touch the ball 300-400 times a year. This RB argument has become so ridiculous. Taylor isn't worth a contract but he's worth a young elite #1a WR "and more". PLEASE.

Another QB for Kyle Shanahan to ruin with his ego? Nah, I’m glad Andy got his hands on him. This wouldn’t be the same Patrick Mahomes.

Kinda getting a Gruden vibe at this point. I'll be interested to see how long he sticks with Purdy. It's really starting to seem like he doesn't want a long-term answer at the position.

He doesn't. He's wants to prove that he makes the offense go, not a star QB.

But I just really don’t get that line of thinking. If that’s indeed how he’s making his decisions.

It's not what it seems. I saw the video clip. Sherman had just stated that CB was a much tougher position to play than WR and Keyshawn and Irvin went ballistic. It was a pretty funny moment.

You lost me a little. You said the 49ers fans don't have any reason to complain about the way their organization is being run. They're 29-21 the last 3 years in the regular season. The Bucs are 33-18 the last 3 years. The 49ers are 4-2 in the playoffs. The Bucs are 5-2 in the playoffs with a Super Bowl win. Yet, you complain constantly about how this organization is being run when they're literally outperforming the 49ers.

That doesn't earn these guys job security in your eyes?

So what is the harder position to play?
The WR knows what the play is. The CB has to react. The CB also has to provide run support and tackle.
