Wow, Fields managed to make a difference. Though the real heroes were the not Todd Bowles led Bears defense. They got the offense one more chance in crunch time.
You do understand how much of his success is due to the coaching, system, and surrounding talent, yes?
Give Jalen Hurts to Tampa and he's Josh Dobbs. Maybe.
You know this from half a Canales season? Incredible.
Yet you seem really set on the new QB being the cure all here. Almost no talk of coaches. As if the new QB will rescue us no matter who is OC. Not surprising, this is the same crowd who swear by the "anyone but so and so would be better" mantra. Let me guess, that's in okay too right?
Anyone would be better than Canales.
We argued it all off-season, but she was clearly right. I don't think it has ever been a "QB savior" mentality from her, but maximizing assets as in picking earlier and/or acquiring more picks for players on expiring contracts. She definitely wanted a coaching change. With the benefit of hindsight this should have been the plan.
The point about Hurts is also true. They have dominant position players around him up and down that roster. He has certainly developed, but he's had a lot of help.
And Hurts was moments away from being lost to the pages of history has Wilson not vetoed that trade.
As for MJW, she spent the offseason plastering the board with Caleb pictures. Nothing about what OC wouldn't run him into the ground like we've repeatedly seen. No regard for situation or fit. QB savior will make it work with anyone! (Except Canales for some reason)

Can't really search for images... nor is this really worth doing..

The best possible thing that can happen at this point:
1) Lose out.
2) Fire Bowles and the rest of the Arians Bunch.
3) Pick in the top 10-12 or so. Go BPA. Do not reach for a QB.
4) Lean into the rebuild and wallow in cap hell next year. Baker might be too GOOD. Give the ball to Trask. Or hell, Gabbert. Who gives a shit?
5) Draft Caleb Williams.

Is this level of hype legit?
I've literally ready (anonymous) scouts claim this kid will be why the NFL institutes a draft lottery. Talking heads and decision makers saying he's generational. Comparisons to Mahomes that seem reasonable. We're talking Elway hype, perhaps higher than Peyton, Luck, or Lawrence enjoyed.
What say you? Punt the 2023 season (it's going to happen either way) and go Winless for Williams?

I'm not going to read any of this but here's a picture that gives me hope
I don't mean to pick on her particularly, every draft groupies and rookie savior believer gives way too much weight to the prospect. After all they wouldn't be a hero otherwise.

Links?
She's been talking about him since before he won the Heisman.
