Enjoy 8-9 mediocrity.
You’d think watching the best player in NFL history for 3 seasons would raise expectations around here.
Enjoy 8-9 mediocrity.
My expectations are always high. The Buccaneers usually do not meet them.
The Buccaneers have still not done that. Next weekend still has to be played. Not sure why you elevate a division title to being more important than at best being 17-17 over the last two years.
“Hey Siri, define ‘arbitrary end points.’”
Because a division titles guarantees you a spot in the tournament. This game is about winning CHAMPIONSHIPS not just having the best record.
I assume you bike to work, right. The only thing that is important is getting there on time. Doesn't matter if you do it at 3 MPH or 55 MPH, rigt? Doesn't matter if you are a sweaty mess because you had to peddle vs riding in a car with AC.
Pretty sure that percentage applies to all 14 teams that make the playoffs. Maybe a bit higher for the teams with bye weeks, 49ers & Ravens.
The history of the No. 1 seed, by the numbers
Since 1990 playoffs, when postseason expanded to 12 teams/6 per conference
Lost Divisional round: 16 times (25.8%)
Lost Championship Game: 14 times (22.6%)
Lost Super Bowl: 18 times (29.0%)
Won Super Bowl: 14 times (22.6%)
32 of the last 62 Super Bowl participants were No. 1 seeds
14 of the last 31 Super Bowl champions were No. 1 seeds (45.1%)
You disagree with the data you posted?
I'm sorry, this cannot be used as an excuse to defend Bowles.
Again, you posted this. You disagree with it?
So I'll ask again: Do you disagree with the data you posted?
Are we complaining or addressing reality that the Bucs won’t be able to add $80m to the existing roster?
Just so I'm clear, you're hung up on the fact that #1 seeds are marginally more likely to lose a singular game than they are to win three straight games against increasingly difficult competition?
Not hung up on it. Just pointed out that the #1 seeds are more likely lose their 1st playoff game than they are to win it all. You debated that point, which per the data YOU posted is true. Do you disagree with that point or not? It's a simple question.Snake wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:38 pmJust so I'm clear, you're hung up on the fact that #1 seeds are marginally more likely to lose a singular game than they are to win three straight games against increasingly difficult competition?
Thanks for making my point that team quality is extremely important and the playoffs aren't a crapshoot at all.
As well, no decision is made on one game. The decision is made on the overall progress or lack thereof- losing this game to the worst team right now would go in the lack thereof column
@Snake just like I thought. Checkmate.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:49 pmNot hung up on it. You posted it!!!! The question is simple, which is why you're cowardly dodging it. Do you disagree with the data you posted, yes or no?
That’s why I said it might be best for us to lose this game. Ugh why couldn’t we be playing a better team. Bowles and Baker coming back is the worst thing for this franchise moving forward.MRM wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 3:47 pm This is the ultimate pitfall for fans. Win and there's a third straight division title and a home playoff game against a struggling team. But that also means Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles return. Lose and you've choked away a gimme division title and who know what they do about the QB and the head coach.
Especially with this year's QB play being so shoddy, do you seriously feel like Baker is so bad that this team will be held back because of him relative to 25 other franchises in the league?Navybuc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 6:17 pmThat’s why I said it might be best for us to lose this game.
