Can’t do much worse here than he has historically.

Special teams are no longer as important as they were a few years ago. Most kick offs are not returned. Punts are rarely returned. Maybe once a weekend one punt may be returned more than 15-20 yards. The biggest job of special teams is blocking by the offensive line during punts, FG's and extra points.

Fans get pretty jaded only watching their own team. If you have good enough specialists the difference between teams becomes pretty negligible anymore.

I’m not sure which play you’re referring to.

I’m not saying huge plays on special teams never happen, because they do, but I don’t know that there’s some distinct coaching advantage that somehow creates them.

Piling on Armstrong after he retires seems like beating a dead horse.

If we want to play better on special teams we should make it more of a focus during the later rounds of the draft.

The play he is referring to is that punt return for a TD in the Buffalo/Miami game on Sunday night that put Buffalo up for good. Miami had the number one seed in the AFC East on lockdown and in the last two weeks, blew two winnable games and didn't even win their division. They collapsed like that before back in 2002 and guess who their special teams coach was then?? That's right, KEITH ARMSTRONG!!! That guy is a piece of shit coach and his special teams are always anything but special everywhere he goes. He needs to be given his walking papers.

He retired. That’s why we’re talking about it.

He was also our teams coach for our most recent Super Bowl.

And again, the special teams were nothing special during that time. With the exception that the kicking game was more stable than at any other time in Licht's tenure.... but that's more on Licht for finally finding the right guy.

I'm glad Armstrong retired. That guy needs to be put out to pasture.

Fair enough. Just don't be surprised if you don't notice any significant improvement in our special teams next season.

12 TDs last year on kickoff/punt returns begs to differ with you

Only 0.6% of NFL kickoffs (6 out of 1,013) and 0.3% of punts (3 out of 952) were returned for touchdowns during the 2022 regular season.
Doesn't seem like much of a focal point to worry about to me.

ESPN is reporting the job search is down to former Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn, Detroit defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, and Baltimore associate head coach/defensive line Anthony Weaver
Yeah... I'll bet Eric feels really good about Quinn getting the job.

Am I to interpret that you wanted Jerry Springer to be our OC?
