Atlanta is going to be much tougher this year, that's for sure.
Not to be a turd, but is anybody really supposed to be scared of those “weapons?!?!”
Pitts is terrifying for any defense with a 35 year old linebacker as their best linebacker.

People should certainly be afraid of Darnell Mooney, right? I mean after all he had Justin Fields throwing to him...

All they got was a sixth round pick? Talk about a wasted first rounder.

I can take a shit and get a sixth round pick out of it.

Talk about a huge waste. They invested a high first round pick and did nothing to help him with receiving targets and O- Line protection.

If he balls out in Pittsburgh, the Bears GM needs to be fired

Just imagine if the Bucs trade their 6th round pick or Trask for Fields.

We'd have a younger QB with more upside and actually playing experience.

I'm willing to bet he would ball out throwing to Evans and Godwin.

Right but my point is he can be useful for the Bucs offense like Taysom Hill was for the Saints.

I guess the tape doesn't lie. Teams saw something they didn't like. That's unreal that he went for a 6th. Crushing for a team that gave up picks just a few years ago to move up and get him in Round 1. But at least they got a return investment last year from Carolina's stupid move.

A sixth makes sense. There’s very little contractual control left. He’s proven to be one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL.

This is betting purely on his athleticism.

Ridder threw for 600 yards against the Bucs D last season. The Falcons had 835 yards against the Bucs last season with Ridder. Drake London had a career game. The Bucs needed everything to go their way just to win once against them. Koo missed 2 Fgs. Got a safety and a pick on the 8 getting a short field. Needed a game winning TD drive from Baker and then the D almost lost it with 30 seconds left.

It's probably the last season for that staff anyway. Chicago has a tradition going. Draft a QB high, fire the HC and/or GM the next season. Drafted Mitch Trubisky in 2017, fired John Fox next season. Drafted Justin Fields in 2021, fired Matt Nagy & Ryan Pace next season. They'll draft Caleb Williams, will probably suck, and will fire at the very least Matt Eberflus next year. I'd let Poles go too.

Remember the hype around the 2021 qb class?

Three years later, Trevor is the last one standing.

Zach Wilson designated to a backup-3rd string role
Trey Lance a 3rd stringer
Mac Jones traded away for 6th rd pick to be backup
Justin Fields trades away for 6th rd pick to be backup
Kyle Trask barely a backup
Davis Mills a backup

And I don’t even know if Kellen Mond or Ian Book are still in the league anymore.

It's a next year pick. Essentially if Fields were to play more than half the snaps this year the 6th becomes a 4th.

Mike Evans restructured his deal to free up $17.432M in cap space.

Hopefully this means they have a big free agent in mind.

He normally doesn’t sign until like June but I think Clowney could be a solid stopgap on the d-line if we can’t draft anyone there.

You know he won't be anything more than a backup. The only way he fulfills that is if Russ gets hurt early on

May 2nd will be very telling. The Steelers have to decide whether they want to exercise his 5th year option or not. It's a fully guaranteed $25.6mil option.

Unfortunately not.

This was done basically to get us out of the red once some of the new contracts got put on the books.

What's odd to me is Evans brand new contract was restructured but there are a ton of guys who's deal could stand to be reworked/extended. Chris Godwin has the 5th highest cap hit amongst WRs this year at over $27mil. Wonder if we approached him about an extension.

The only hype around this draft class I remember was Trevor Lawrence. Everyone else was regarded as tier(s) below him. A bunch of athlete QBs with potential to be good.

Same thing with last year’s class. Ar15, mayo guy, young, stroud. Tons of questions. Wouldn’t be surprised if they all end up in a similar boat to that 2021 class.

And sometimes a draft class has lots of really good QBs.

It is not as though that has never happened.

We should restructure Godwin's contract because he has not done jackshit for three years. As Bootz pointed out, ranking between 5th and 10th in cap hit for wide receiver
