Welcome Elijah Klein
Guard from UTEP. More quality O-line beef.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Best pass blocking grade of any offensive lineman in college football according to pff last year according to That Franchise Guy on YouTube. No idea if that's true or not.

Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Yall do know most fantastic IOL are also usually just the best athlete and OLmen in their college so they end up at OT.
Great IOL who stay inside in school either come from a school which great tackles or they can't really play outside at all themselves.

That's a lot of good competition at RG.
This will be a top 5 OL.

Several positions of need have been addressed in this draft. The only pick I disagree with is that RB in the 4th round. We still need help at CB and ILBGrahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:02 pmDon’t know about that, but we had a weakness and they’ve addressed it.

Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
I don’t disagree, but clearly they like Dennis and/or Britt with LaVonte. They only start 2. I understand why it wasn’t addressed.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:06 pmSeveral positions of need have been addressed in this draft. A little more concerned at CB for sure.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
This. Might not even be a top 10 or 15 unit but we aggressively addresses the issue in FA and the draft. Hopefully we get better.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:02 pmDon’t know about that, but we had a weakness and they’ve addressed it.

I honestly think it’s bad news if Mauch is starting again.

Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Why? Mauch will be fine, he had all off-season to work on himself. Everyone said the same about Godeke last year. If you throw Klien in he'll probably struggle as a Rookie
Linemen usually take time to develop. Not everyone can come in like Wirfs. If that was the case how would we be paying all these guys? We would have to then make decisions then redraft the line again.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
I get a Jensen feel from this guy for some reason.

This seems very Madden to me. Like every young player is going to progress linearly and has some sort of built-in potential.
The statistics have been posted. He was the worst guard in the league who received as many snaps as he did. I posted his game by game performance. It didn’t really get better as the season went on.
It is possible that he makes improvements in the offseason. I hope everybody does. But if that was the case for every player, then every player would be an all pro by the time they’re 30 years old. And we know the league doesn’t work like that.
If he’s on the bench week one, it’s probably a good thing because somebody took his job.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Which would mean someone else's development is going great.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
I know nothing about this guy and don't expect a ton, but it's nice that for once we drafted a guy who is an actual guard instead of hoping that tackles can look good with position changes.
Welcome to Tampa, Elijah.

Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
IIRC I thought he struggled early (as expected with most rookies)on and then showed improvement as the season went on.Snake wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 8:24 pmTo invoke a Bootz thought….Central_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 8:07 pm

Mind you, I hear what you're saying but you can't write them off because of one year of stats.
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Not sure this would happen or be feasible, sounds like he has the mentality of a FB. Maybe they stick him back there a few plays a game and let him go hit someone.

That's only 15 pounds heavier than Patrick Ricard of the Ravens.

You do know players like Xavien Howard are free agents?BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:06 pmSeveral positions of need have been addressed in this draft. The only pick I disagree with is that RB in the 4th round. We still need help at CB and ILBGrahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:02 pm

Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Any player after the draft most likely will get prove it deals or vet minimum. The fact we didn't draft a corner doesn't mean we will say "we good, dog." We have had many one year deals recently including Baker. Who says we ignored positions for one year deals due to the depth of free agents. Don't act like Xavien Howard is Hargreaves. There are a lot of quality CBs sitting there and maybe JL and co thinks its a waste to spend a draft pick on one is all I'm saying
Re: Welcome Elijah Klein
Xavien Howard isn't on the Bucs though. You brought him up as if it's a forgone conclusion that we're going to sign him and everyone should act accordingly.kaimaru wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 1:26 amAny player after the draft most likely will get prove it deals or vet minimum. That too. We still have a draft class and UDFAs to fit under the cap.

And there's a reason why no one has picked him up. He's getting long in the tooth and is injury prone and is probably asking for the moon.kaimaru wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 11:39 pmYou do know players like Xavien Howard are free agents?BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:06 pm
