@Bootz, please stop with the petty down-voting crap again. I mean, are you going to do that every time he posts now like you and 13F11B were doing a while back? It accomplishes nothing.

Winston was a "tank for" guy on the Bucs message boards. There may be the occasional naysayer to that or someone who likes to re-create their own opinion history but, for the most part, Winston was a guy Bucs fans wanted and that includes the other opinion of Mariota.

I don't think there was thought that he was generational but would be an elite QB in the NFL.

Only 4 QBs come to mind that had that multi year, untradable pick type hype. Luck, Winston, Lawrence, and Caleb. Sophomore first overalls if you would. #1 ranked HS recruit, people been waiting for years, type stuff. Outside of that maybe Clowney and Reggie Bush? (Who didn't even go first but hype was real)

Again, just my two cents of how I experienced the years leading up to those draft classes. In fact, I'd bet a huge reason I was cautiously jaded towards Caleb this year was precisely how Winston like it felt. Only Caleb didn't even win.

Please advise, Buc2....Bootz doesn't do anything that hasn't been done to him. You're criticizing me for returning the favor

Trying to retcon Winston into Geno Smith is wild.

I could definitely see them achieving around 11 wins, but I would be willing to wager my 401k on it not happening lol.

Had the Jets won 14 games last season, they would have had the best record in the NFL.

Is Aaron Rodgers worth 7 wins, which would have doubled their win total? I'd say no.

Double digit wins, sure that's possible. Best record in the NFL, slow your roll.

Bills twice. Dolphins twice. At 49ers. At Steelers. Home against the Rams & Texans.

Almost half of their games against playoff teams from a year ago and the prediction is 3 losses? Eff outta here.

That seems to be a tad optimistic as a Jets win total but we'll see.

Who is it that's predicting 14 wins?

That would be anywhere from 10-7 with a SB win to 14-3 with a one and done.

That's a wide range. Jets can easily fall anywhere in that.

Things took a turn for the worse in 2021. Despite garnering his lone Pro Bowl nod, White's production dipped across the board. His PFF grade, which was already awful during his first two seasons, fell to an abysmal 36.2 that season.
Glad the dude was not paid by the Bucs.

Devin White was paid $45mil+ over the course of 5 years by the Bucs. If this article suggests he was never good, then that's a high level of incompetency by the Bucs.

Essentially our version of Aldon Smith only without the DUIs and a happier Super Bowl arc.

Sad part is we would've loved to have paid White and gave him every chance to be that guy. He decided not to take it or that he already was or whatever. Oh well. The Bowles defense has moved on with hungrier players.

It's pretty optimistic to expect them to split their division games at .500, and there's no chance in hell they run the table on the rest of their schedule.

Hard pass.

I think we’ve only had 2? Doug Williams and Trent Dilfer.

And Elway kind of feels like a drafted player for Denver.

Elway was actually drafted by The Colts then traded to Denver.

They never won a championship for the Buccaneers though. Don't forget about Steve Young. I believe he was drafted by the Buccaneers in a supplemental draft after he left the USFL.

Yes...but I think @Kona's point is that he never played for the Colts. He was traded because he refused to play for them. So, to his point, it "feels" like he was drafted by Denver...the only NFL team he ever played for.

Right. The trade was 2-3 days after the draft, but the Colts still sent their 1st round pick from that draft plus another 1st and a player for Elway. Denver didn't officially draft him, but they basically did. They traded for the rights to him as their draft choice.

It's a technicality that someone used to make a silly point about Denver and Tebow.
