Good point. We'll see what new coaches they bring in to turn it around.

Honestly, if Liam wasn't such a Crown, Larry Foote in Jacksonville would be pretty cool. Finally get a chance to call the plays. See what he can do to turn around that squad.

Isnt it odd that people rail about Bowles and our defensive backfield but then they trust him to draft CB's high so that he can ruin them..

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Bowles hasn't really been involved with drafting any CBs high here. Dean was drafted in the 3rd round in his first year. That's the highest CB we've picked. AWJr. was a 2nd in 2020. Zyon has developed into a good CB. He was a 5th rounder.
We haven't invested enough on the back end.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
So he can ruin them?? Have you been paying attention?
He won a SB with SMB and CD3, guys like Mike Edwards, Jordan Whitehead, SMB, all went to get paid in FA because of him. Our CB corp is being held together by the yet another project day 3 pick turned full fledged viable starter by Bowles in Zyon.
The most talent he's gotten to work with was a undersized day 2 safety who he turnd into the highest paid all pro DB.
Give this guy a couple of dudes from this stacked class and let him finally cook us back to a SB.

They should move it around like they move around the draft.

If they stopped blowing 1st and 2nd rounders on D Lineman that don't pan out, sure.Doctor wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 12:06 pm So he can ruin them?? Have you been paying attention?

Seriously though, we need a new DB coach or two.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Sounds like you two boys need to make your six picks.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
We have very different definitions of didn't pan out. Vea, Hall, and Kancey are tremendous up front.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
The belief around NFL front offices is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will work to re-sign free agent wide receiver Chris Godwin, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
"Multiple execs expect the Bucs to try to re-sign Godwin, who has that Buc-for-life feel similar to Mike Evans," Fowler wrote.
The Bucs signed Evans to a two-year, $52 million deal last March ahead of his 11th season with the franchise.
Godwin, who has played eight seasons in Tampa Bay, was leading the NFL with 50 receptions through seven games in 2024 before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Spotrac projects he will get a three-year, $67 million deal on his next contract.

They expect us to give him a larger contract that he had before despite being older and having more thread on the tires?
Geesh.

Cap goes up, prices go up.
A big incentive to resigning him is being able to push his dead money further down, but that locks in when he hits the market. Which I think he will.
It just takes one other team to believe a 28 yo baller is all they need.

I'd love to trade for Jaire Alexander and sign Dre and Hassan.

This should confirm to anyone that felt this entire ordeal was just some media driven conspiracy that it truly was a lot more to it. By comparison, the Bucs allowed Canales to take 3 assistants with him to Carolina. And not just any 3, the OL coach, WR coach and assistant HC. Coen can't even talk to the assistant OL coach.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
It's pretty common to block lateral moves so I don't imagine it's just out of spite. However, I also think it means we plan on running a very similar system with the same offensive coaches.
I do not expect an outside hire for OC.

The Bucs are angry and rightfully so.
