Especially since, as I've shared on here before, I inadvertently set fire to my girlfriend (now wife's) apartment the second that happened. That cost a penny or two but was worth both of them.

My wife (girlfriend) had this glass oil lantern chandelier thing over her coffee table. It was a wrought iron piece with these glass oil burning globes all around it that you lit like candles. Gorgeous.
Annnnnnnyyyywho, we were having a watch party with some friends, and I was sitting on the couch in front of said coffee table. Ronde intercepted the pass, and I leapt to my feet throwing my hands in the air. In doing so, I smacked a globe up and out of the chandelier. It fell to the coffee table, smashed as glass might do, and caused an immediate issue as a smashed globe of oil presently on fire might do.
No joke, nobody knew what to do. We were celebrating, we were on fire, it was a thing.

No. I'm 5' 10". It was just a "we beat Philly and are going to the super bowl" leap. I cleared about a 45 inch vertical with 3 seconds hang time (for airborne fist pumps).

Can't believe you were actually sitting down. I was pacing back and forth from the living room TV where I was watching to the garage where my Dad was watching and then out onto the patio where my brother was watching. Then it happened and we all high fived and hugged in the middle of the house after screaming and yelling and running around.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
They had to make it interesting, didn't they? Stupid McNabb driving.... hot damn, that's such a memory.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
McNabb doing his dance on the sidelines as we lost yet another playoff game to them seared an unhealthy hatred for all things Eagles in me. I'm glad it didn't take long to wash away.

Well deserved. It's appropriate to have the QBs responsible for taking us to our first and latest NFCCGs on there...

Selmon with Vea would have been a fantastic choice but I can't complain about Barber with Winfield or Williams and Mayfield

Or just stay up all night?
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
The biggest concern for me continues to be departure of Coen. Thinking back, Coen with his emphasis on quick hitting passes made everyone and every unit on the offense look elite. Godwin particularly was on the pace of being the best WR. His flexibility from changing a zone heavy run scheme to making power blocking the primary approach was also amazing. Finally, as defenses started to catch on to our short passing game, he seamlessly transformed the offense back to a balanced one with deadly intermediate level precision passing. The guy was like Bill Belichick and Nick Saban in his tendency to adapt on a week by week basis. Thanks to us having some established veterans on offense, I have faith in them to work with Grizzard to figure out the best outcomes. But in game adaptability will be the big question.

Knowing that Grizzard was the one handling the third down duties and our success there, my concern isn't as great as it was when Coen left.
But still concerned, Coen showed he had a good feel for calling plays and for designing plays to fit the players rather than forcing the players to fit his scheme. Remains to be seen if Grizzard can game plan or sequence plays like Coen could.

Designing a package is a very different skillset than stacking successful plays. The former is mostly intellectual, the latter is mostly instinctual.

With "Rocky" Grizzard it's not instincts or intellect. He has a more direct approach.

@Bootz
Last night I dreamed Micah Parsons went to the Bucs. It was so vivid and so real I had to actually get online and make sure it didn't happen. Let's cross our fingers that I am an oracle or something. I think you might be the only other person here who understands that this kind of like our defense getting its own mini Tom Brady

No, much talent moves on from our roster. He is wanting to be the highest paid non QB in the league.

Why are we a Super Bowl contender with Parsons when they haven't really been? They've won one playoff game (against a highly flawed Bucs team) with him on his rookie deal.Sdbucs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:40 amWe instantly become a superbowl contenderSwashbuckler wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:04 am @Bootz

There's a reason these things don't happen often. The haul it would take to acquire Parsons is enormous. And then you have to give him the highest contract for a defensive player ever.
Essentially anything the Cowboys would take in reality would gut our team and probably make us neutral or worse now and in the future. If you can get him for JUST a Khalil Mack level deal then maybe it's a go, but the Cowboys have aspirations of winning this year too and they'd want impact players. Probably Vea+ (one of our RBs) and then the picks too.
Then you have to pay Parsons with contracts coming up for Baker, Luke, Zyon, Mike, Kancey, on and on ...
