Eh, the script didn't work vs. ATL, but they seemed to work vs. HOU. First two drives resulted in TDs, and when I review the play-by-play, those certainly look like scripted plays to me.
1st offensive play was literally a throw away by Baker. There were also numerous check downs to our RBs and occasions where he had to get to 2nd and 3rd reads for the play. The script worked but the process was very up and down.
Furthermore after those 2 drives, the subsequent 7 drives yielded 5 punts, 1 blocked punt and a missed FG. AKA absolutely nothing. Not sure I'd call that part of the plan.
I mean, I don't know what we're arguing about. The first 15 or so plays of any game are going to be scripted, no? So, by that logic, the first TD series and about 3-4 plays into the next TD series for TB were almost certainly scripted. And those resulted in a a pair of TDs. I'd say the script worked vs. HOU.
After that, we get three drives that are basically cancelled by sacks and penalties, before Baker executes another scoring drive that goes 9 plays/60 yds, that should've resulted in at least a FG but Chase misses the chip shot.
Then comes the blocked punt fiasco, et another drive that ends in a punt by a sack and the fact that the HOU D finally stuffs the run.
then we get the final TD drive to win the game.
I mean, it wasn't pretty, and not nearly efficient enough, but Grizz and Baker were dealing with an OL that featured
zero OTs and just one Ol that was actually playing the position he was supposed to be playing. Not sure how realistic it is to expect 60% scoring rates or whatever in that situation against a top-5 D with one of the best pass-rushing DLs in the league.
