Bucs vs Lions discussion
Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
Greetings from Ford Field.
Zyon looks clean in pregame warmups, which bodes well.
I am one of probably 10 people here in a throwback Bucs jersey, and I've already had to explain to three drunk Michiganders who Lee Roy Selmon was.

I dunno, I'd like to see that one play that changes your mind. First carry to the house sounds good. Then start blasting 40 plus's on them.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 4:53 pmI hope like hell our 3rd RB doesn't play enough to have a breakout game.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 4:36 pm
As I’ve said before, I loved Wright during our preseason. I expect him to have a breakout game this evening..

Yes
Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
Go Bucs!
Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
On paper it looks like we can match up well against them at the moment. Isn't their entire secondary out? I might be misinformed but I think we have the advantage outside of home field tonight.

This is Evans day!!!
Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
Both starting CBs and both starting Safeties are out for DET. If we can protect Baker even a little bit, he should be able to take advantage of them consistently all game, even if both Evans and Mek are on pitchcounts. Basically, Charlie Heck needs to play a little better than he has, and I expect Otton to be almost permanently lined up next to him for chipping duty, as well as Rashaad in the backfield for pass-pro, so I doubt we'll see much of Tucker tonight. Because he can't block my 88-yr old mother, per PFF.

How well are they going to call plays on defense?
Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
I mean, you could ask a magic 8-ball and probably get as accurate an answer to that question. Their DC is a rookie, right? And he's playing with a lot of young/inexperienced DBs tonight, so my guess would be a lot of basic stuff. Probably going to be hard to disguise things for him as well, at least I'd imagine. he may call a lot more man than he'd like under the circumstances, but i can't, or wouldn't, bet on it, because we've seen DCs in the past that were in a similar personnel situation that just refused to modify their playcalling, so who knows?mdb1958 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 6:25 pmSooner06 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 6:18 pm

But if I had to guess, yeah, I'd predict we'll see more man from DET than we're used to seeing, and they may blitz more than usual. We might even see a spy on Baker on any 3rd and med-long plays. if that happens, it could take a couple drives before Grizz/Baker make the adjustments to deal with those changes by DET-D.

The answer is both...
Falcons. Bijan-100+ yards and a TD
Texans. Nico Collins- 50+ yards & TD
Jets. Garrett Wilson- 80+ yards & TD
Eagles. Saquan- 70+ yards & TD
Seahawks. JSN- 130+ yards & TD
49ers. CMC- 110+ yards & TD
Lions. Gibbs- 215+ yards & 2 TDs/St Brown 85+ yards & a TD
Bowles does not game plan to stop their best weapons at all.

You mean like in general? Because theirs did a Hell of a job last night eliminating what we wanted to do.
Overall the defense wasn’t bad last night, but it’s beyond frustrating that we don’t even seem to try to take the other team’s best players out of the game.

Re: Bucs vs Lions discussion
Todd Bowles the DC is overrated IMO. Bowles the HC I can live with. But defensively, it's always the same story. Slow starts, never doing anything to eliminate the other teams biggest threats.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Oct 21, 2025 8:10 amYou mean like in general? I guess they weren't that bad. They did allow fewer points than their season average thus far.
