Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
I wouldn't move Dean unless it's for a premium pick. I doubt we re-sign him and he could net a larger deal elsewhere, which would be a positive in comp pick formula.
That said, any chance we're fooled by the contract year surge we often times see from players looking for new deals and give him one? Do we believe that the lightbulb finally came on in year 7?

Dean has always been a good corner. Just didn't have the pics.
Doubt we resign him, or at least hopefully we don't. But that's due to age and whatnot, not us actual ability.

We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
The New Union will correct that mistake.

If he gets 3 more pics this year then yes we re-sign him but only to a heavily incentivized deal so we know at just turned 29, if he is still viable.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Wed Oct 29, 2025 11:20 am Dean has always been a good corner. Just didn't have the pics.

If he gets 3 more picks he’s probably going to be an All-Pro and will get $20M+ AAV on the open market.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Wed Oct 29, 2025 6:34 pmIf he gets 3 more pics this year then yes we re-sign him but only to a heavily incentivized deal so we know at just turned 29, if he is still viable.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Wed Oct 29, 2025 11:20 am Dean has always been a good corner. Great move by us to motivate him by cutting off a year of his deal. Good on him for playing well.

Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
Im in favor of no trades. Our window is no where close to closed. Just Load up in talent next year and hope next year is healthy.
Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
There are rumors that the Raiders are trying to move Jackson Powers Johnson. That would be a great addition for us.

I wish we had kept Dean on his original cheap deal through next year. Easy money. But he's done right by us and we're doing by him. Hope he gets his bag somewhere. And us a comp pick.

I didn't remember hearing that, I was almost positive he was a consideration but we had Barton higher.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:23 amYou’d have to ask yourself why.
We reportedly didn’t like his attitude back in that 2024 draft.
Not that it matters..
If Brady wants to get rid of him then hes bad news I think
Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
Supposedly they don't like his technique or overconfidence in himself. His tape has been very good though for the most part from what I've seen. Could be a Chip Kelly problem and/or that he's not a scheme fit.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:23 amYou’d have to ask yourself why.

I doubt Brady is very involved in the day to day activity.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:54 amI didn't remember hearing that, I was almost positive he was a consideration but we had Barton higher.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:23 am

He's not. He has a 5% ownership stake in the Raiders, the same as Magic Johnson has in the Commanders. You don't hear anyone saying he's out here making team decisions.Redrum wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:48 amI doubt Brady is very involved in the day to day activity.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:54 am

I think it was a Pewter Report article post-draft, which honestly they do a bit too much after their mocks are wrong. “The Bucs were not as high on this guy for X reason.” Blah blah blah.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:54 amI didn't remember hearing that, I was almost positive he was a consideration but we had Barton higher.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:23 am

JPJ was pegged to us a lot in mocks.
I’d love to add him. He is who I wanted in that draft. The Barton selection surprised me.
It’s odd for a team to be ready to move on from someone in their 2nd year though.

Well according to Bootz, Brady doesn't possess the Ban Hammer. Its Mark Wario Davis we must run through, to save JPJGrahamburn wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 11:36 amI think it was a Pewter Report article post-draft, which honestly they do a bit too much after their mocks are wrong. “The Bucs were not as high on this guy for X reason.” Blah blah blah.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 8:54 am

Edit.. no no hes Bowser which means thats on extra difficult so we're not gonna get him.
Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
While this logic is sound (extremely small minority position = no say) The reason he is even a minority stake holder is because he is the GOAT. He knows what it takes to win it all, and not from a physical superiority realm where the team with the best athletes brings home the trophy.
I'm not saying Brady is or isn't involved in whatever decision they are making about Jackson Powers, but if Brady is giving them the "trade him" signal, it would be foolish not to hear him out above what you would typically expect from a 5% pie holder.

Or maybe like 31 other teams........Their GM....Are you saying Brian Glazer is making all the draft and roster decisions around here and we had it wrong all these years? C'mon man. This aint hard. 5% stake owner ain't pulling the stringsCentral_Buc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 1:06 pmWell according to Bootz, Brady doesn't possess the Ban Hammer. WOW! I just...I can't. I didn't think we things around here would get anymore looney but then I remembered this happens every year. Deeper we get into the season, the more brain cells get fried.__Chef__ wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 1:50 pmWhile this logic is sound (extremely small minority position = no say) The reason he is even a minority stake holder is because he is the GOAT. Y'all really need to research minority ownership stakes around the league. These people don't become minority owners because of what they know. They do it to make money. Let's just go down a list shall we?
Kevin Durant
Lewis Hamilton
Condoleezza Rice
Vince Carter
Warrick Dunn
John Stallworth
Serena Williams
Venus Williams
Mark Anthony
Tracy McGrady
Gloria Estefan
Jozi Altidore
Just to name a few. In addition, with the rising costs to own an NFL team AND the league now allowing private equity ownership, you're seeing more owners sell small stakes to raise capital. And now, on this board, we have fools who believe a 5% owner, which is extremely small, is giving signals and making any decisions at all.
This is a new one. Yall shock me every year and not in a good way.

Gloria Estafan has minority stake in the Dolphins. That I didn't know but am glad to learn something new every day.
Wonder if she would give advice to us Loonies over here from Togus

Re: NFL trade deadline November 4th
Teams don't try to get rid of good players in their sophomore seasons. For that reason alone, I am skeptical about trading for JPJ, despite how much I advocated for him prior to the draft.
