Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
A little trivia...
Seattle clinched its first playoff appearance since 2001. They also are the only club never to have made a WS appearance.

Both of whom were gone by then.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 12:39 amThis is bad considering they had Ken Griffey Jr & Alex Rodriguez in their primes.

It's not a sexy thing to do but you can (to an extent) blame injuries for a team not living up to its full potential. For the Rays, Oprah has been handing out injuries to the pitching staff like "You get Tommy John!" and so on. It's been such a damn grind to get guys heathy again. There's been so much turnover. Hell we probably won't ever see KK again. I have no expectations here. None. Every good thing that happens is just me getting spoiled.
It's great to be able to be THIS relaxed about it all

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
I'm not expecting Shane or the pen to just take this whole thing on a 1-0 score. It's a start boys. Keep digging for more
Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Damnit, Rays, a little offense would be nice.
Runs scored today:
1
Previous 10 games:
3
0
3
1
1
7
1
1
6

A couple of random outbursts, surrounded by game after game after game of inept. That will not win you a series. You can win an oddball game or two, but not a freaking series when you play like that.

Hopefully we never see KK again. I have a better chance getting a hit than he does. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:27 pm It's not a sexy thing to do but you can (to an extent) blame injuries for a team not living up to its full potential. Why did Cash take Glasnow out? This bullpen is melting down.

I think I've seen a clip somewhere of someone laughing while loading bullets into a revolver and you know he's gonna off himself. That's what the offense feels like sometimes

Oh cool they lost. 1 run in 24 innings. Splendid job boys

It’s always mystifying, at least at first, when bats go cold like that. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:08 pm Oh cool they lost. 1 run in 24 innings. Splendid job boys

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Not to me it isn't. It's stupid how much this team gets hurt. We didn't have a chance. It affects chemistry and concentration all up and down the lineup.Snake wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:27 pmIt’s always mystifying, at least at first, when bats go cold like that. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:08 pm Oh cool they lost. 1 run in 24 innings. 1660 man games lost to injury. And this is AFTER moving on from guys like Brent Honeywell who didn't play 3 FULL SEASONS. KK is probably done, Baz ain't playing at all next year. It goes on dude. On top of it you can only throw on so much super glue and duct tape every offseason and expect it to work. This team didn't lose for a lack of trying but resources. I was happy we even got this far
Like the best I have to hope for in a couple of years is "Hey you guys look! The Rays signed Scherzer and Verlander. Omg what a team" and both dudes are like 43 and don't know when to quit
Like.... Unless you guys want to actually spend some money for once I don't even know what bargain bin bullshit the front office is gonna pull this time

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays
Whatever mojo was keeping the team playoff hopes on life support died when Yandy and Randy squared off in the parking lot. I think we went like 3-13 after that and the chemistry just fell apart.Snake wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:27 pmIt’s always mystifying, at least at first, when bats go cold like that. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:08 pm Oh cool they lost. 1 run in 24 innings. I'll be motivated to give a damn when Stu stops fucking around and works out a stadium deal. Dollars (aka players aka talent) will follow, and we can stop pretending that walking backwards into the WC spot is something worth celebrating.
