Unrelated: Chucky was up like 2 TDs with six mins left. Flip back 15 mins later and it’s overtime.
Never change Chuck.

I was thinking two weeks ago that they looked like trash. At the moment, bringing back everybody is not looking quite so brilliant.vivalaReagan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 7:10 pm this defense has been exposed. can’t tell yet if it’s scheme or effort (or both) but if bowles and ba aren’t in semi-panic mode this week, it’s going to be a disappointing season.
Our DL has been straight-up trash, as have our linebackers that are supposed to be so great.
The secondary...Words cannot express the worthlessness of our secondary thus far...

Neither team could run it Buck. Like 7 first down rushes between them on awful YPC numbers.

Goddamn it. That’s a useless injury risk to take. Put Vaughn out there!

It really is. Like...what are we proving at this point? We're going to lose by multiple scores anyways. Brady has 432 yards ffs.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 7:27 pm Bernard hurt on that TD grab. I'm sorry but this is fucking stupid.

Agreed 100%. It makes zero sense to have these starters in. The game was over 10 minutes ago.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 7:27 pm Bernard hurt on that TD grab. I'm sorry but this is fucking stupid.

This is idiotic. Does Brady/BA really care that much about stats?

When you come back from 28-3 in the SB, impossible stops being a thing in your mind.

Re: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ LA RAMS OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD-09/26/21
We still are.
One game doesn’t change that.
Stafford is still an overrated bum and will find a way to stink it up, like he always did in Detroit.
We had a bad day on defense, a bad gameplan by Bowles and where down two starting corners.

Well, the Buccaneers at this time are not a contender. The defense is a hot mess.

Did you look at the injury report you dumb fuck?LUGZ wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 7:16 pm We're the same team as last year. The draft has added next to nothing to our talent pool. Defense has regressed considerably.
Guess that's why we looked outclassed by the Rams who did but improve mightily.
Licht better make some midseason moves or this will be a very disappointing repeat attempt.

Bowles would have to improve galactically just to get to "bad" for this year thus far. I was never enamored with him last year; for most of the regular season our defense looked like crap; then they got hot in the playoffs and were world-beaters. At the moment they're just bad. There aren't many defenses in the NFL that would've looked worse today than ours. Letting the other team repeatedly march down the field with no resistance isn't exactly earning those multi-million dollar salaries, either on the players' or coaches' side.

People relax , we had some real clunker games last year and look what happened .
I am wondering if guys like White and Winfield are reading too many press clippings. Sophomore slump perhaps

Re: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ LA RAMS OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD-09/26/21
My biggest issue with this defense is its inability to get off the field on third down. Far too many times they get a team in 3rd and long and it just doesn't matter.

I've been a Bowles supporter from the beginning, I like his aggressiveness and his name isn't Mike Smith.
At times though he makes me wonder? You have to make adjustments in this league.
Yesterday has the feel that if the game was going on today the Rams would still be moving up and down the field at will.
If you get tremendous pressure from your front 4 anyone can be a great DC. The challenge comes when that isn't happening.
The challenge comes when your game plan going in is not working.
The challenge comes when you have guys hurt and you need to plan around it.
At times Bowles reminds me of my HS hoop coach, roll the ball out on the court and hope you got the more talented team.
We put a lot on film last year with the push up to and through the SB.
OC's aren't just going to put in a GrubHub order and head for the coach praising our defense for turning it around.
They are going to put in time and effort to combat what we showed last year. So far it's working.
We need that same time and effort commitment from Bowles. Adjust, adapt, overcome.
I'm a long way from giving up on our DC but yesterday had the feel of "throw up our hands and wait for the end of the game" type of coaching.
Re: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ LA RAMS OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD-09/26/21
I’m seeing a lot of complaints about our Pass Rush.
Fair enough, but here is some context:
Week 1 Dak Time to Throw
* 2.39 = # 2 quickest in NFL (if you remove Brady)
* 38 of his throws were well under 2.5 seconds at 1.78 average TtT.
Week 2 Ryan TtT
* 2.49 = # 6 quickest in NFL (if you remove Brady)
* 27 of his throws were well under 2.5 seconds at 1.83 average TtT.
Those numbers tell a stark, inferable story. Just like last year, teams are overwhelmingly using the quick game against us to negate our Pass Rush. In terms of NFL TtT, they’re beating our back 7 QUICKLY.
This is on our back 7 coverage personel and our defensive coaches.
Looking briefly at the replay of the game and doing some half-assed timing of throws, it was the same thing in this game (which is predictable because that is what McVay does).

Re: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ LA RAMS OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD-09/26/21
A lot of high draft picks were spent on the secondary for it to be this mediocre. A lot of money was spent on depth in other places for it to be this mediocre.

I think they went beyond reading them and had them framed in gold plate. Right now they're playing like a bunch of chumps that ate cheeseburgers and partied every night until three a.m. during the offseason rather than actually bothering to train or watch film every now and then. You know, the stuff they're paid millions for.Jason Bourne wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 1:26 am People relax , we had some real clunker games last year and look what happened .

I would venture that one could throw together any random assortment of D-II college defensive players and they could hold the other team at least a third of the time on third down. 67% is beyond bad - it's stealing money, players and coaches both.
Re: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ LA RAMS OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD-09/26/21
Some stats do matter but what's worse is constantly allowing whoever we play to be more physical and overpowering.Tnbandwagoner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:57 pmI would venture that one could throw together any random assortment of D-II college defensive players and they could hold the other team at least a third of the time on third down. 67% is beyond bad - it's stealing money, players and coaches both.
