The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I meannwe don't know anything.
I'm sure OBP will hear the whole story, weigh the pros and cons, and make a choice. At the end of the day AB caught a TD in a SB.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
It's something we hear about 1000 times in the local media but I'm not sure its known nationally since ya know, every year they just assume we are going back to being the Yucks again. Also, the national media tends to be anti-Baker to begin with, so stating that helps his perception a little.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Baker is loved by his teammates. Has been since college, and probably earlier. It's one reason it's hard to have him on the bench. A percentage of the locker room will want him to play because of his personality alone.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Evans/Godwin at #11 of #32
Baker at #20
Rachaad White #26
Cotton at #32 of #32
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Seem about right. Evans by himself I think would rank higher, but grouping him with Godwin I think pulls his # down.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I hope they both take the next step.
What worries me is all 3 of those clips, the catalysts for all of those pressures were made by guys that are no longer here and that we didn't really adequately try to replace.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I disagree. The catalysts for all those pressures were Diaby and Kancey.
I presume you mean Devin White in the first clip and Shaq Barrett in the second and third? Devin White in the first rep was just doing his job and didn't meaningfully contribute to the rush. Shaq Barrett in the second and third reps arrived pretty much when Diaby did, though Diaby got there a hair faster; while Shaq contributed, he certainly wasn't the car that made the engine run.
I agree with Mr Baldinger. Kancey and Diaby looked good on those reps and I expect them to continue making strides as they enter their sophomore seasons.

Rewatching 2018 week 1 on NFL Network has been enjoyable.

Nvm. Historically bad defensively even in this game. Surprised we didn’t lose it.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:24 pm Rewatching 2018 week 1 on NFL Network has been enjoyable.

That defense was so bad. Its hard to forget that season. Mike Smith got fired a few weeks into the year and it didn't get better. Pretty poor personnel choices as well. Licht tried to rely on a lot of rookies and youngsters to play a complicated system.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:52 pmNvm. Historically bad defensively even in this game. Yup. Grimes got hurt the week leading up to week 1. Hargreaves during the game. He actually made several plays…Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:13 pmThat defense was so bad. M.J. Stewart had to play a lot…
That trouncing by Trubisky and the Bears that year was the last straw. Awful.
Then, Jameis.

Wirfs listed on PFTs possible camp holdouts
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootba ... n-holdoutsWith only $18.44 million in salary for 2024, he’s been looking for a new deal all year. He showed up at mandatory minicamp. Again, that’s no guarantee he’ll show up for training camp unless he gets a contract offer that prompts him to sign on the dotted line.

Not worried at all. He’s worth the bag, we will give him the bag, none of this feigned pearl clutching will matter.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
And why shouldn't he and everyone else here be confident that the team and Wirfs are going to come to a mutually beneficial deal? The stupidest thing our franchise could do would be to Walter Jones him till he's sick of us and wants to leave. And while I've had my fair share of criticisms for Jason Licht in his Bucs tenure, I think the chances of him trying to screw with Wirfs hover somewhere around 0.01%.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
We all should be confident. No question. At the same time, you can't dispute or disagree with the fact that at this point it's an uncertainty. I HOPE it'll get done. I BELIEVE it'll get done. I'm CONFIDENT it'll get done. I'm also uncertain.Cheb wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 4:11 pmAnd why shouldn't he and everyone else here be confident that the team and Wirfs are going to come to a mutually beneficial deal? Zero uncertainty.
I'd be dumbfounded if he misses a real snap when healthy.
