The Lions even made it to the NFC championship game, which was embarrassing. Cowboys

Reportedly the Eagles declined an invitation to visit the White House in celebration of their SB win. They also declined to visit when they won in 2017. Same president both times too ironically. We'll see what happens.
That got me to thinking, I don't recall if the Bucs visited the White House after their win. It was during the Covid year, so did it get canceled?

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford reportedly wants to be paid more than $50 million per year.
The Rams have reportedly given Stafford permission to talk to other teams, and so far the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Las Vegas Raiders have shown interest.

The Bucs went to the White House when Biden was there. I think that it is pretty dumb to decline a visit no matter who the President is. I am not the biggest fan of the current president but if given the opportunity to go to the White House and meet him I would be ecstatic.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 5:50 pm Reportedly the Eagles declined an invitation to visit the White House in celebration of their SB win. @Grahamburn is this the kind of deal you expect for Godwin?

Nice extension for him on the heels of a fairly so-so season. Similar numbers for Godwin with one less year of control would be my best guess. Yeah.

So you see him getting LESS than what we signed him to on his previous deal?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 2:22 pm Nice extension for him on the heels of a fairly so-so season. Similar numbers for Godwin with one less year of control would be my best guess. Yeah.

He was 3 years @ $60M on that deal. $40M guaranteed. He's 3 years older and has another season ending injury on his resume. I would think he'd be happy with a similar contract? Don't even make it complicated. Change the corresponding years and date at the top of it and send him the exact same thing.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 2:29 pmSo you see him getting LESS than what we signed him to on his previous deal?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 2:22 pm Nice extension for him on the heels of a fairly so-so season. Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Holy overpay.
I mean, good for him for getting paid and all, but the Bills drastically overpaid the man.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Meh, Shakir was their leading WR last year and $15M isn't what it used to be by NFL standards given the cap increases. This is really a only a 2yr commitment by the Bills.Bills and WR Khalil Shakir agree to terms on 4-year extension worth up to $60.2M ($32M guaranteed)
Godwin's deal will be around $25M/yr, and I'd take the over on that #

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Contract values are based on % of cap. So that 3yr/$60M deal Godwin signed 3yrs ago after the Super Bowl is closer to 3yr/$75M in today's cap %Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 2:49 pmHe was 3 years @ $60M on that deal. $40M guaranteed. Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
You wouldn't pay him that much, but he’s a solid #2 WR that we desperately need?
Kinda talking out of both sides of your mouth there. $25mil/apy is the going rate for #2 WRs. Look at Devante Smith, Jaylen Waddle, DJ Moore.
Shakir is really a slot receiver operating as the Bills #1 by default. Godwin being at the top of the FA WR list will likely get more than that. Much more.

Some thought Mike would get much more last year too. Maybe Chris is also a bad businessman? Or maybe he just wants to be here?Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 7:56 pmYou wouldn't pay him that much, but he’s a solid #2 WR that we desperately need?

All 3 of the players you listed were much younger than Godwin when they signed their deals. Chris is 29 in two days.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Tennessee Titans LB Harold Landry was granted permission to seek a trade. He is due a $17.5 million base salary for the 2025 season.
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
It’s also a sign they’re not impressed with Coleman. Shakir is basically their #1.

Organization report cards are out.

Before this came out, I was sure Cincinnati or Cleveland would be dead last. Arizona...who knew.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 3:56 am Organization report cards are out.

As for our report, I am surprised the Glazers so badly perceived. Maybe worse than the fans honestly. The other thing that surprised me was the food/dining area. Poor tasting food? C'mon, you're an NFL franchise! Everything else was about par from last year

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Either one of two things, either the players feel the Glazers aren't around enough (i.e. could extend to lack of communication on a number of levels) or if they are there that the Glazers treat them coldly or that the players are made to feel that way.kaimaru wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 6:52 amBefore this came out, I was sure Cincinnati or Cleveland would be dead last. It's not because the Glazers don't want to win or their commitment to winning that they would get a D grade.
In fact I don't recall any former players complain about the Glazers which leads me to think the former as the most likely possibility.
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I didn't see a grade for ownership on that link.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I’m typically of the opinion that staying with one team puts you in a special class. The Browns are an exception. Until the team is sold, no player should let that factor in.
It’s the worst organization in football and that’s saying something.

Salivating at the prospect of landing Myles Garrett
PFF top 101 players of 2025, Garrett comes in at #2 behind Lamar Jackson.
2. EDGE Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns
Garrett led all defensive linemen who played at least 300 snaps with a 92.3 overall grade and a 92.8 pass-rush grade. This was his fourth consecutive season with at least a 92.0 overall grade. He tied division rival Trey Hendrickson for the most regular season pressures with 83 and recorded an incredible 23.1% pass-rush win rate. Garrett’s resumé speaks for itself at this point. No matter where he plays next season, he can be expected to record elite production.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I really feel it's more a reflection of the franchise than the player. Some franchise just straight up don't deserves it. Some are great for long stretches but it sours. So many single team thought of players, like GOATs Brady and Montana, had good second winds.
To stick with a player until THEY consider it the end takes a lot of loyalty, belief, and commitment. The pressure to "move players before the cliff for something" is always on. Riding a player over the hill to the end is rare.
