At that point, you need to keep him. He can still actually contribute. Young QBs (whoever that may be come week 1) do better with legit targets who have huge catch radii.

I’d rather keep Evans if I’m making a play for Fields. More picks will be going their direction tho.

Rather have Evans on the team if I'm making a run at Fields. I'd send the Bears Godwin before I would send them Evans.

Mdb question of the day.

Does Godwin take back his number?

How much would you be willing to give for Fields? I think I could handle our 1st this year, next years 2nd, and maybe an additional mid round pick.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

I don’t know the actual buzz going on. I know a couple reporters have floated the idea of trading Fields and drafting Young number one overall. Fields will definitely be on the move after that. Very fascinating turn of events, potentially.

I would give them my first round pick and a mid rounder next year, probably.

Question is: how many teams are interested in acquiring him versus how much leverage do they lose by being forced to trade him?

We can go team by team and look at their quarterback situations. I did that recently. You can really go from there.

Bears have zero leverage in trading Fields. They wouldn't get nearly as much value for him as they gave up to acquire him (1st & 5th in 2021, 1st & 5th in 2022). At best they'd get a 2nd, maybe a late 1st from a team like the Giants.

Will I be surprised if we're good next year? Absolutely.... Will I be shocked if we suck again? Not at all

But I honestly don't know anything about how next year is going to play out

Fields did lead the Bears to the #1 draft choice this year. He could do the same for the Bucs next year.

Dungyball? I don’t know about that. Seahawks offense doesn’t run like dungyball..

I don’t care if 2923 season sucks.. 2024 new coach and Caleb Wllliams? I’m good with that

Canales was in Seattle since 2010. Gotta look past 2022 to get an idea of what his offense will be.

My only contribution to this thread is sharing my shock that Thad Lewis is a) a coach and b) on our staff (and apparently was last year??). I watched him a lot when he played at Duke. Has a name of champions, too.

Carry on.

Did not pick up the Dungyball thing. However, they are going to have to significantly upgrade the Oline based on his statements.

The amount of people getting fired up from that headline without actually watching the video to see how wildly inaccurate that is… it’s…. it’s just…. well it says a lot about society. None of it good.

These hypotheticals are all driven by clickbait bloggers tryna pick at our carcass for players.

Nobody is going to trade with us for the sake of our cap situation. We're literally cutting our starting left tackle to save money. Anybody we'd trade is somebody we'll probably cut anyway.

Still. We have to entertain these silly hypotheticals every year.

It's just the reality of the Bucs' current situation. It would take a lot of luck to be a Super Bowl contender again in the next handful of years. They need to make some tough decisions, like would they rather have older guys play out their career here or turn them into draft capital. The most efficient way to build a team is via players on rookie contracts, so there's a lot of validity to trading away good, but aging players.

We need to draft some core pieces to our roster, avoid free agency and convince plenty of UDFA's that this year is a good year to come to Tampa. Write out plenty of pfa checks.

Are some answers from one guy better than no answers from everyone else. We got six picks after 155, choose them well. The UDFA's all get to choose where they go - we need to do a good job of selling our team.

One other thing - when it comes to QB hits and pressures I think they should be divided by whether it was a win for the defense or not. Forget all this I almost got there bull. It's fine for reviewing what you need to work on - not so much for a ribbon.

For three years, since Brady signed with the Bucs, I posted very little on this board. Because there was nothing to complain about. Big bro was going to take care of everything. Now I'm back posting at a rate I used to during Lovie's tenure. As much as I am interested in seeing Trask play, I can't shake off the vibe that we will suck bad in 2023 and there's nothing that can be done to change that.

So do we suck and keep a huge cap deficit or do we start to remedy it? If we do not get in the position to lock down Wirfs - somebody will.

Don't go by expense, go by the best fit WR for a Evans, Godwin trio.

Won't hurt to get all of them signed that I considered - I'd take that as a win.

We are either going to be starting a lot of rook's or we are going to stay in a cap mess.

Anyone know the customary raise for a one year - one mil contract?

The other day I mentioned Quinton Barrow LT. Quite often I squeeze hopeful UDFA's into my sims out of fear of losing them.

Just saw this! Short QB, but a 71% passer in 2022. He makes it work.
