Licht doesn't make moves to improve the team during the season.

Every year is different. The value is different. The GMs negotiating are different.
Unfortunately of all the positions to trade for mid season ILB is probably the worst given the schemes learning curve.

Simeon Rice among six Bucs players to make the cut for the top 52 HoF finalists:
https://www.buccaneers.com/news/simeon- ... class-2026
The other Bucs are Warrick Dunn, LeSean McCoy, Lorenzo Neal, Logan Mankins and Lomas Brown. Dunn might be the only other one of the group that'd go in as a Buc. Alstott didn't make the cut.
Hope Simeon makes it, has a very good case but tough sledding with the players on the list. Brees and Fitzgerald likely get in as first ballot guys. Think Kuechly gets the call this year too. Still a crazy logjam of WRs with the likes of Smith Jr, Wayne, and Holt who made the top 15 last year.

I know I'm not the only one who hoped we would trade for Micah Parsons, but now that we're halfway through the season, I'd like to reevaluate that whole idea.
Had we made the same trade did, how much does he move the needle in terms of the current state of the team?
Would having Micah changed the Eagles or Lione game outcomes?
I wonder if with all these injuries if we'd be having buyers remorse. And hell, let's be real, Micah would probably be on IR already if he did come here...

We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

Re: ***2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Official Season Thread***
They had already signed Reddick. I guess you could have included him, but signing a free agent and then trading them immediately doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in others, or YaYa (who’s coming on nicely) in the deal. The cowboys reportedly wanted an established interior run stuffer though. That’s Vea.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Thu Oct 23, 2025 4:05 pm I know I'm not the only one who hoped we would trade for Micah Parsons, but now that we're halfway through the season, I'd like to reevaluate that whole idea.

We also didn’t know we were losing Kancey, who was supposed to be creating some interior pressure and also took edge snaps last year.

We're trying to stay the course with the drafting and developing formula with a signing here or there in hopes that it brings us another ring.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Thu Oct 23, 2025 4:05 pm I know I'm not the only one who hoped we would trade for Micah Parsons, but now that we're halfway through the season, I'd like to reevaluate that whole idea.

The huge irony is that was not the formula that got us either SB win.
Now I'm not saying Licht should ball out on the trade market and acquire any and every available player. But I think he's done this organization a disservice by completely ignoring a valuable resource in player acquisition. He hasn't made a trade og any kind since March 2024 and that was trading away Carlton Davis and 2 draft picks. The last player he traded for was Gronk in 2020.
It's nice to want a roster almost exclusively built through the draft. But in a league where 31 other teams are trying to get better, it's smart to try and utilize all of the resources at your disposal to make your team better or at least try to. Parsons would've cost a pretty penny but he'd absolutely be worth it. Green Bay certainly doesn't have any regrets about the trade right now. He's part of the reason they are the current #1 seed in the NFC.

If we win this Sunday and we don't have another half-dozen injuries, I could see Licht making a move over the bye.
What's a realistic move Licht could make that would satisfy everyone on here?

Depending on Reddick’s diagnosis maybe Jaelen Philips or Bradley Chubb? There’s some dead cap on Chubb though so he might not really be available.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Thu Oct 23, 2025 9:47 pm If we win this Sunday and we don't have another half-dozen injuries, I could see Licht making a move over the bye.

Hell, maybe even Waddle? All of a sudden we kind of need a WR.

Baker could actually make use of Waddle's speed, unlike Tua.

Not many guys get moved in season and honestly when they do they rarely seem to make much of an impact with their new team.

I'm still a little surprised at some of the names still floating around Free Agency.

Should reach out to the Raiders for both Maxx Crosby and Jackson Powers Johnson.
