I don’t believe Soto is on the same level as Ohtani. I fail to comprehend why the Mets paid him such a substantial amount of money.Zarni wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:02 am That is absolutely crazy.
as a fan of a small market team, CLE, I think stuff like this might actually help them. Obviously they are never able to compete for guys like Ohtani and Soto, but maybe if the big boys pay them such ridiculous amounts, it will actually lower the price of the B+ type player as the bigs club won't be able to go after them as much
The 15 year thing is crazy. Clearly this guy won't be producing in 15 years time...so basically it is probably more like 8 years 765M

St Pete approves. As of now I will never talk shit about them ever again. Kudos to you. Either Sternberg is going to hold up his end or MLB is gonna force his ass to sell. At this point I would welcome it happening. I had sympathy even 5 years ago for the guy but I've run out of patience now

I guess this isn’t a done deal yet because the media and others believe the Rays are still not satisfied with the stadium’s cost and other issues. They are considering relocating either to Tampa or Portland
Stu Sternberg needs to sell to someone who is passionate about baseball and keep the Rays in Tampa

The few people who are passionate about baseball in TB don’t have the money to buy, and those that have the money to buy are not passionate about baseball staying in TBPhantom wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 9:35 am I guess this isn’t a done deal yet because the media and others believe the Rays are still not satisfied with the stadium’s cost and other issues. Is the problem that tickets to the game aren't cheap enough or is the problem that there are too many games for the passionate fans to work and be available for the games?acmillis wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:19 pmThe few people who are passionate about baseball in TB don’t have the money to buy, and those that have the money to buy are not passionate about baseball staying in TBPhantom wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 9:35 am I guess this isn’t a done deal yet because the media and others believe the Rays are still not satisfied with the stadium’s cost and other issues.
