Clemson has 3 losses. SMU has 2. For Clemson to pass SMU they would have to jump from number 17 to like number 10. That ain’t happening. Clemson isn’t jumping ASU either after that Big 12 title. So Clemson should get the 12 seed.

I think if ND jumps PSU, then the committee may have to drop PSU behind OSU because of head to head. I think PSU kept the game today close enough to stay one ahead of the Irish.

Yeah I deleted it because there’s still a world where the committee could choose Alabama. Don’t think it’s going to happen but you never know.

I guess the question for me is the same as last year when I said would Florida State beat Alabama? And my answer was hell no. Now I ask myself would SMU beat Alabama? The answer is probably not. The Bama wins over Georgia and LSU were impressive. And even the South Carolina win looks good. But I can’t get that Oklahoma showing out of my head. Still SMU has beaten absolutely nobody. They’re bragging this morning about how they beat Stanford for crying out loud. So I get why people think Alabama should be in. Strength of schedule has to account for something.

For the record, not many teams in the top 12 have quality wins. That’s why I give Georgia and Oregon a lot of credit because they’ve beaten good teams. Outside of Alabama who may not make it, none of the top 12 have that great a resume in terms of beating good teams. Even Texas has really beaten nobody. So Alabama has to be given some credibility for that.

The operator of Pasadena's Rose Bowl has announced plans for an $80-million renovation of the iconic stadium.

The announcement, which came from the Rose Bowl Operating Company and its non-profit partner the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, aims to complete a slew of targeted improvements in advance of the 2028 Summer Olympics, when the stadium is scheduled to host soccer matches. They include:

a new field-level club in the south end zone;
improved bowl seating;
a new video board which would be one of the largest in the country; and
other infrastructure improvements.

Completion is expected in phases between 2026 and 2028.
