I think it's a great cowboy name.

But will you navigate the internet and tell me what you think about him as a linebacker?

Breaking: Curt Cignetti and Indiana Football have agreed to terms on a new eight-year contract with an average annual compensation of approximately $11.6M, the school announced.

The new contract runs through November 30, 2033.

Red Murdock is a physically imposing inside linebacker with elite instincts and leadership qualities that anchor a defense. His game is built around a high football IQ, disciplined gap control, and a relentless motor. Murdock diagnoses plays quickly—particularly inside runs and short crossing routes—and takes efficient angles to the ball. He’s a sure tackler who consistently wraps up and drives through contact, rarely missing in open space.

In coverage, Murdock shows solid awareness in zone concepts and can carry tight ends up the seam, though he lacks elite top-end speed to consistently run with faster backs. His lateral quickness and anticipation allow him to mitigate this limitation effectively. As a blitzer, he demonstrates excellent timing and closing burst, often disrupting plays before they develop.

Murdock is also a vocal leader, setting defensive alignments and holding teammates accountable. His high motor and toughness make him a coach’s favorite and a locker room presence. The main areas for improvement include refining man-coverage skills and improving hip fluidity.

Projection: Day 2 NFL Draft pick with starter potential at inside linebacker. Projects best in a 4–3 scheme as a MIKE or strong-side backer who thrives against the run and commands the middle of the field.

We have struggled for years to have a full compliment of linebackers and we better find them or it will be our undoing.

I am in Ann Arbor for a Michigan game day for the first time in 15 years, paling around with some old teammates for a guy's trip.

It feels good. Nostalgic up the wazoo.

Heck of a weekend coming up. I missed out on predicting Miami - Louisville last night, but I would have gotten it wrong anyway. I thought Louisville could hang with Miami, but I always assumed Miami would pull ahead eventually. I guess I forgot Miami was going to Miami all over themselves.

For the ranked matchups today:

LSU - Vanderbilt
I like Vandy, and they're at home, so I'll pick them over LSU just because I said I liked Vanderbilt a couple of weeks ago. But I have serious doubts about that choice. Screw it: Vandy

Ole Miss - Georgia
Ole Miss is good, but not "go to Georgia and beat them between the hedges" good. Georgia

Tennessee - Alabama
I want Alabama to lose. In all situations, I always want Alabama to lose. They won't today: 'Bama

USC - Notre Dame
I told @Zarni Notre Dame would lose again before they got to this game. ND made me a liar. If I pick USC, then ND makes me a liar a second time by winning today, those two lies cancel each other out and I win again. So there. USC

Utah - BYU
I don't know a whole lot about either team, so I'm just going to coin flip it and say: Utah.

Watching a bit of the game and I think I saw you. At least, I saw a guy who looks like what I think you look like. So it was probably you.

If you saw a group of five large men all wearing Michigan jerseys in good seats behind the Michigan sideline, that may have been us.

Stopped by the alumni tent, saw a few surprise faces, took some photos, had a grand old time. Speaking of, time for an after-party.

I don't know why I don't come back here more often. The joys of coaching and living a few thousand miles away, I suppose.

I knew Ole Miss was going to lose when they had to punt.

First team to get a stop or turnover was going to win that game

Yeah I found the score but they are getting to where they want to wait a long time to let scores out.

West Florida 15
West Alabama 7 starting the 4th quarter.

Sorry, they don't make those anymore. You'll just have to start practicing the pose, because I assume any time anyone drives by your house, you will be doing this in the driveway:

USF and Memphis will face off next weekend, with the winner securing a spot in the college football playoff.

If one of them wins the game and run the table.
