Like it or not special teams have become an actual factor in the league again. Teams have to pay attention to it

Omg I cannot believe they let them drive the field like that
Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
Easy offense is playing against the Cowboys
Jags offense looks anything but easy so far. They needed 4 turnovers and a special teams TD to get 26 points today. Lawrence threw for 174 on 31 attempts.

That’s exactly how you want to start the drive. Can they finish?

There’s no salary cap on paying your staff. Leaving for more money should never be a factor. Title is another issue.

I have to wonder why more owners don’t approach it this way when they have excellent coordinators. Why not pay to keep the guy an extra few years? Of course the guy has to accept your offer as well.Snake wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:37 pmI said it when the rumors re: HC openings came available…Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:30 pm We should have paid Coen $15M to stay lol

Regardless of outcome I hate this drive by the Packers. They got into FG range & chose to shut it down while having all timeouts + 30 seconds.

I think even if they are offered the right money, they so often want the power and perceived glory of HC so they grab that AND the money.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:42 pmI have to wonder why more owners don’t approach it this way when they have excellent coordinators. They had just 28 seconds left when Jacob’s got to the Cowboys 49. Next play went incomplete and they only had 22 left.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:44 pm Regardless of outcome I hate this drive by the Packers. Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
There have to be coordinator versions of Mike Evans/Chris Godwin. People who are excellent at their jobs, want to stay & just want to be shown some love. Those OCs/DCs I would pay like HCs if I had to. Assuming they were top 5 coaches in the league.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:47 pmFair point. That would me a lot to me tbhPrimeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:46 pm

Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
If the Bucs were willing to match the salary/term of the Jacksonville job, that’s an easy choice to stay in Tampa. Working for Khan would be horrible. Task number one for the job is fixing Trevor Lawrence. I’d prefer Baker.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:46 pmI agree most would, but some might take the raise along with continuity of life.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:45 pm

Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
You know what? I think I just realized why this hasn’t happened more often. I remember reading somewhere that most NFL owners aren’t flush with cash. The large majority of their wealth is the team value so they may not have the stomach for limitless staff salaries.Snake wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:51 pmIf the Bucs were willing to match the salary/term of the Jacksonville job, that’s an easy choice to stay in Tampa. No I want Bowles to find another OC if Grizz doesn’t work. Canales’ system was limited. I want a system like Coen’s. One that is designed to test modern defensive schemes.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:52 pmIf Cannales gets fired do you want him back at Tampa?Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:49 pm

If you’re trying to get the TD but are getting shut down then kick the FG. But don’t get into FG range just to play for the tie
