Watching Terry McLaurin - it would be something if Trey Palmer turned out like him.

Darnold named QB2 in SF?
Sorry Trey.
Sorry Trey.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
At the rate Kyle goes through QBs, all 3 of them will play in due time.

49ers should have sign Phillip Rivers for a year. They’ll win Super Bowl guaranteed

I would like to see Lance do well but can see why the 9ers might be getting more than a little concerned.
Maybe the kid needs a fresh start somewhere else? But there is no way SF gets anything close to what they gave up to draft him.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I doubt they trade him but we'll see. They should but as I stated, and I wasn't being funny, Kyle goes through QBs probably more than any other coach since Gruden. The last time a QB played a full 16 game season under him was 2019. Before that it was when he was in Atlanta. His offense and playcall style puts QBs in danger more frequently and they have gotten injured. Last year alone 4 QBs finished the year with injuries. 2 in the same game.JackBootedThug wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 3:11 pmI would like to see Lance do well but can see why the 9ers might be getting more than a little concerned.

As far as getting back the 3 1st and the 3rd, that's a sunken cost at this point. Next step is heads will start rolling. Kyle and Lynch had better hope that A: Purdy's incredible season wasn't a fluke and B: that Darnold can at least be serviceable. And this also goes back to why I doubt they trade him. Neither of them can afford to unload Lance for a 4th or 5th and he goes and lights it up for another team.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Not possible. I've heard it from numerous sources that taking a QB at the top of the draft is the answer. And that SF has the smartest FO in history. This has to be fake news.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
A 1st round emergency QB?
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Gonna guess nobody told you either of those things.

Ryan Clark on Tua:
Clark, who played defensive back in the NFL for 13 seasons, questioned whether Tagovailoa prioritized his health this offseason in light of the quarterback returning to camp bulkier. What was Tagovailoa doing this offseason?
“Let me tell you what he wasn’t doing — he wasn’t in the gym, I bet you that,” Clark said on ESPN’s “NFL Live” show this week. “He might have spent a lot of time in the tattoo parlor. He was not at the dinner table eating what the nutritionist had advised. He looks happy. He thick.
“He built like girls [working] at Onyx in Atlanta right now.”
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I really don’t see him being in the league at age 30. For a variety of reasons.

"Fat" Tua
Ryan Clark proving again why he needs to shut the fuck up. All he does is run his mouth.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Tua's (lack of) success this season will not be due to him eating bad (or healthy), being in the gym (or not), or any other inconsequential off-season talking point crap.
Tua will not be successful this year because he may get hurt, or he'll fall back to earth.

Someone else's tweet, but the 49ers gave Alex Smith 5 years and Trey lance 4 games.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
It's definitely a feature of the new era. I think the game would be better if coaches could actually take the time to grow guys, but that's not how it is anymore. Two years is the new Five years.

@Bootz He definitely put on weight
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Given his extensive injury history, namely the concussion issues, I'd say putting on weight was a necessity for him.

Putting on weight does not reduce the possibility of getting another head concussion.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Cards send Simmons to the Giants for a 7th.
Damn, I’d have loved us doing that and seeing what Bowles & Co. could have done with him.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
A) We couldn't afford his contract. No, not even the $1 million the Giants will pay him. We are broke.Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 10:48 pm Cards send Simmons to the Giants for a 7th.

B) Isaiah Simmons might just suck at football. If he were good, then why did the Cardinals just trade him for a sack of magic beans when they need all the help they can get, and why did no other GM in the league offer anything better than a seventh round pick?
C) Trading future assets for one-year rentals is a foolish idea for a team who is soft-tanking for Caleb Williams.
D) And most importantly, as has been the consistent question throughout his career, where does Simmons play in our defense? On the edge over Shaq, JTS, Nelson, or Diaby? Fat chance. Off ball backer over David or White? Also no. Corner? No way he's better at outside corner over Dean or CD3, but he might be competitive at nickel. Maybe as the rotational third safety in a Mike Edwards role, I suppose.
E) Johnathon Gannon is an unknown as a head coach with the Cardinals, but the man knows defense. If Simmons was on his shit-list, I trust his judgement.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I think there are other NFL teams that will show the NFL fans how tanking is done.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I'm seeing rumors that the Cardinals don't believe Kylar will play this year and Dobbs will start. They are easily the worst team in the league.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
If Caleb Williams maintains his status as #1 draft pick and the Cardinals go 2-15 and draft #1, that’s a situation right there.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:19 am I'm seeing rumors that the Cardinals don't believe Kylar will play this year and Dobbs will start. Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
More like the Cardinals don't want him to play this year. They want him as healthy as possible when they try to trade him next offseason. To do that, they'll have to accept that they will likely get a very shitty pick AND will have to pay a healthy portion of his guaranteed salary for 2024 and maybe beyond.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:19 am I'm seeing rumors that the Cardinals don't believe Kylar will play this year and Dobbs will start.
