Giddy about CJ Carr and Deuce Knight coming, yes. About Leonard transferring? Eh. Good qb, still hate the portal.

Just imagine this: One-loss Texas wins the national championship by a two-game win margin of 4 points overall. Meanwhile FSU crushes Georgia by 3 touchdowns and ends the season 14-0. I'd make a case that FSU earned at least a tie for the overall title and a No.2 ranking overall no matter how the other semifinal went between Michigan and Bama.

That's the controversy that would last for a whole offseason.

Fsu has zero chance to win the orange bowl. I'd wager that 30-40% of starters will opt out of the bowl.

On both sides, though.

Then again, for FSU, I would think this might be that rare situation where more would play. Not all, obviously, but maybe more than usual - just to finish their careers undefeated and make a statement while doing so. As a team, and each as an individual alpha dog.

They are uncertain about whether the game is still being played.

I'm hoping they come for the coin flip and leave before the opening KO.. talking heads would explode and the ESPN/SEC dick sucking will be more forefront than any other time.

Won't happen, but that's my hope

I'm wondering if they can get the scoreboard operator to award points based on the perceived merit of each play, as opposed the results or whether anyone actually scores. Just decide the whole thing in the booth.

Just feed all the teams data into a super computer and let the computer "play the game."

I get the frustration and all, but other teams in the past have gotten screwed, too, and still played their bowl games. I think the better way to make a statement is to show up in Miami and try to prove to the country you were worthy and beat down Georgia. But that’s just my opinion.

I totally understand the frustration. Back when UCF went undefeated, what were the go to arguments people lobbed at them?

“YER NOT EVEN A POWER 5 TEAM!!!!1!!”

What it really meant:

“NOT EVEN SEC/B1G TEAM!”

Any of you watch enough of Cam Ward QB WSU to have a good opinion on him?

All these articles (like today's ESPN article) have him going to OSU and they talk up his athletic ability. The article even said he bring athleticism like Fields did. I look at his stats and in four years he has 342 carries for 265 yards (0.8 ypc). If the dude is so athletic why isn't he running the ball.

(For comparison in college Fields had 260 carries for 1133 yards)

@Snake -- you want this guy? I don't. The only one I potentially wanted is Leonard and he is with ND. I would just as soon see Brown, Kienholz and Noland battle it out.

The college landscape really has Day over the barrel.

He has a bunch of uncertainty in the quarterback room right now. Could bring in a “sure thing,” but the chances of that sure thing being Fields/Haskins isn’t very likely, given the options.

And if he brings in a guy like Ward, he’s at risk of losing the guys who are left in the room and the guys who are coming in. Day doesn’t have enough patience from the media and the fans to sink a year into figuring this out. Nor should he.

In a perfect scenario, he brings in a transfer quarterback with the agreement that it’s an open competition. But, why would donors pony up NIL for a guy who could ride the bench? And if you get a guy who is super legit, with proven experience and production, the kids are going to split.

And for the first time, I can’t blame the kids. Who’s to say these coaches don’t bring in a new veteran transfer every year instead of taking a chance on you?

My gut says they should go with the kid from the Dakotas. Kienholz.

Riley Leonard going to Notre Dame. Haven't watched a lot of him but saw he was the #3 ranked QB in the portal, so that's a pretty good land for them. They also just landed two big WR transfers. So while I still hate the portal, at least Marcus Freeman seems to be good at the recruiting game. Hopefully CJ Carr and Deuce Knight, two future QB studs who are coming out of high school, don't transfer.

Wtf? Here's what I first saw...

So I'm wondering what could be so insensitive that X gives a warning only to click on View and see a picture of a painting depicting burning ships? This world is so fucked.

I found what that painting was depicting...
In the year 1519, Hernán Cortés and his conquistadors landed in Mexico. He arrived in the New World with roughly six hundred men and, upon arrival, made history by destroying his ships. This sent a clear message to his men: There is no turning back.

Less than two years later, he had defeated the Aztec Empire.
So, I guess that painting could be insensitive to Aztecs.

Ah, yes. We cannot offend the culture that commonly used heart extraction as a form of human sacrifice.

Not to mention that culture is no longer in existence.

Unless the Browns are playing, Id much rather watch a College Game than a random program

And heck, half the years, watching Cleveland is like watching a college game

According to speculation, there are reports suggesting that FSU might leave the ACC and join the Big Ten next month. It is said that the SEC communicated their lack of interest in FSU, but they do express interest in UNC and Virginia.

Stupid move on their part. The playoff is expanding next year and conference champs automatically now get top 4 seed. In the ACC, they have it made. In the Big 10, they have to deal with much better teams and will have to travel cross-country like 5 times a year.

The positive is the money they’ll get, of course.
