I thought Cincy at KC or even Miami at KC would be opening night. That leaves either Buffalo-KC or Philly-KC as options. I can see them going with SB rematch to open season.

Can this international crap in professional sports stop
Ummm professional sports are international....3 of the 4 major sports leagues in this country literally have franchises in another foreign country.
Let me rephrase.

Can we stop forcing teams in professional sports to play games in countries that don't have a team in that league?

It is complete crap that a team has to lose a home game to go play in Botswana or wherever the league feels like sending them

I get your sentiment.

NFL/MLB/NBA owners figure practically everyone who would be a fan in the US, is already a fan. And eeking out the other Americans is too costly/difficult. The cheapest way to generate new viewers/revenue is to tap into other markets who are thirsty for these sports.

Companies expand to other markets to increase revenue. These leagues are no different.

Who says these teams are "forced" in anyway? Language for playing internationally is set in their collective CBAs so this is not something they have no knowledge of. Why do you care if a game is played elsewhere? You'll shut up and watch regardless.

Not true. Flying to the west coast from where I am would be a 4.5 hour flight with a 3 hour time difference. Flying to London takes 8 hours and is a 5 or 6 hour time difference. That is huge. Especially because 95% of flights to Europe from the states are overnighters.
The time difference really messes with your head, the worst of it is trying to re-adjust a week or 2 after you get back. The Bucs looked like shit the week after the Germany game.

Come to think I wonder what teams records are the game after getting back to the States.
Who knows. The Bucs had a bye week after getting back and still played like shit losing to a loser Cleveland team with a backup QB playing. Come to think of it, the Bucs lost several games against backup QBs.

Here's the miles each team will travel. Jacksonville with 2 London games will travel less than this season than 17 other NFL franchises including both other Florida teams.

The Buccaneers have had a multi-year history of making backup QBs look like Tom Brady over the past decade. I yearn for the days when the Buccaneers defense took HoF QBs out behind the woodshed and messed them up.

Well that Cleveland game we had a touchdown lead in the 4th and blew it at the end. I remember Bowles did something stupid on the last drive before OT that had everyone up in arms after the game, I forgot what it was

I don’t, actually

I missed the Bucs seahawks game last year because it was on at like 6am my time.

And for Jags fans getting back to back, it sucks

Idk how they are going to insert a European division but speaking of Jags in London

https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootbal ... -them/amp/

I don't how it would work and I'm not in favor of it, I think they just should re create NFL Europe and try that again, I would watch it, I watched it in the 90s. I remember the season used to run from Spring through Summer.

Bucs open the season in MN.

Christmas Eve VS the Jags. I was hoping to make that one, but seems unlikely now.

Cool both teams and (most) fans can travel and make it home for the holiday.

NFL Europe had some decent fan bases. But the logistics of this are a nightmare. Suppose the goal was to have perfect AFC-NFC balance, that would require two divisions, not one. Now you're looking at adding 8 teams to the league to incorporate all of those, with ten division champions and only two wild cards per conference. Anything else even only four teams, either creates a 9-division NFL, breaks the NFL into 12 3-team divisions with two based in Europe, or forces 8 teams from the USA to move to go with four expansion franchises to create a six-division NFL with 6 teams in each division. You may have one to three ownership groups willing to move to Europe (and the Bucs are on that list so long as the Glazers have a home base in Manchester), but you won't get eight. You can't even get the Cowboys out of the NFC East where they don't belong, you're not getting people to leave Baltimore for Barcelona, not happening.

Uff, that's going to be rough. I don't think the OL will be anywhere near gelled enough for that defensive front. Was really hoping they'd be a late season litmus test before the playoffs.
