I think this is about what everyone should have expected year one? Frustrating at times, but they’ve done some good things.
Sounds exactly right. Sunday 9 points came off the back of the defense (Davis' pick, safety). Offense got to 20 on their own.

This is why I say this team goes as the defense goes. Offense just needs to not turn it over.

After watching all-22 breakdowns, it is obvious that Baker continues to hold Canales back and the only thing we have to thank him for is being cheap, playing with grit in critical moments and not turning the ball over too much. He is undoubtedly a good signing for 2023, but will cost Canales and Bowles their jobs if he continues to be tentative and not pull the trigger throwing to wide open receivers.

I can see why Carolina moved to PJ Walker and then Sam Darnold. Dude left a lot of points on the field as usual, including putting us in the position to have to come from behind with a late and errant throw to Evans that forced him out of bounds.

@Snake, please keep reminding us what this guy is.

My fantasy team has been awesome the past few weeks. 3 of the top 4 scores for the season in my league. Just need one team to lose tonight to make the playoffs and I'm in.

Yeah, I sucked for most of the season

I'm not convinced he would have scored there. Looks like #35 would have gotten him from behind. He definitely would have gotten closer, though.

Video won't pick up at the time mark I selected, so go to the 12:00 mark. You'll probably have to wait on some ads to play.

Using the run game as a legitimate wrinkle/threat on 3rd and 3 or 3rd and 2 is something I've been asking for for a long time now (neither Koetter nor Arians believed that those situations were running downs). There are so many good NFL offenses who take advantage of defensive personnel via formationing/personneling/wrong-footing to create + situations in the running game on 3rd and 2/3 and converting.

* 1st and 10 should be a primary passing down (particularly play-action).

* 2nd and whatever should be a primary rushing down.

* 3rd and 2/3 should absolutely have the running game be in-play as both a threat and as a wrinkle to deploy.

Its nice to see that Canales is onboard with that paradigm. Its also nice to see him adjust longterm schematically (turning up the Gap knob and turning down the Mid-zone knob when things aren't going well up front in the run game).

There's a very short window of opportunity to show abused fans that not everything needs to be a chicken little reset.

That you can establish a great culture.
That you can develop your own players.
That you can still be on your 4th team and ball.
That you can trust the process.

Canales’ QBs winning Comeback Player of the Year in back to back seasons would be a Hell of a thing.

We're averaging over 30 ppg over the last three games. That's Arians level.
For reference those defense were giving up 19, 22, 23 ppg this year so it's not like they were playing the commanders.

Canales has done some good things, but I'm seriously concerned about our ability to win against Panthers with his needless run heavy scheme when no rhythm has been established by the pass game.

We have the talent to be a two TD favorite. But the ultra conservative approach will make it a close game.

And follow up with a play action run in shotgun formation on 2nd down.

Canales obviously has a lot of room to grow, but his overly positive attitude and temperament are exactly what young Bryce Young may need to have a shot at succeeding.

Maybe he can take Baker with him. Bryce and Baker together can see over the offensive line.

Let us just hope that the Buccaneers do not gall all Morris on this.

I'd love to see a Rah interview these days. He's undoubtedly learned a lot in the interim.

I really would like to see Rah get a second chance somewhere. He seems like a good dude who got promoted entirely too fast.

Im quite sure hes learned a thing or 2 since then.

Panthers have to go for guys like Canales even if Bucs offense is so so, because I just can't see who else would sign up for a couple of years of Teper. It will also be a good decision for Canales to go for this opening if Panthers are serious because one season Leftwich was a hot commodity and the next off season nobody wanted him to even lead their offense. Being tied to Baker as an OC for multiple seasons is a double edged sword. Todd Monken somehow recovered from Jameis and Baker experience, thanks to his time in UGA, but that is an anomaly.
