AVOID this QB

Post by Doctor »

So I'm trying to put together a short list of QBs and... it's long. Really long. While they all have their red flags, I'm having trouble crossing players off completely.

Who is your QB to avoid this draft?
Someone who you just don't see translating?

Yep. Agreed. Lengthy injury history and 6 years in college are immediate red flags.

Forget the injury his and 6 years. His tape is not impressive. The arm is well below average. Athletically speaking he reminds me of Philip Rivers. I wouldn't count on him turning my franchise around.

I don’t like the throwing motion either.

Neither Nix or Penix would get me very excited, especially in the first round.

I am with you, but I can't really articulate why. Just a feeling.

Guess I need to watch more Washington games before I really know.

Bo Nix gives me Zach vibes. I want to like Penix but when are injury concerns legit? Some players have double knee surgery and ball out.

At the same time both have upside traits that could be nice to lean into.

Caleb Williams. He has a lot of talent. But can he handle losing games in the NFL? He hasn't handled college loses well.

Wouldn't surprise me. The HC and OC will be huge factors. His on field red flags are bigger than Winston's.

I think Caleb will be fine. Talent is there. Maturity will come with time. While I’m not a fan, he’s gonna grow up and figure it out. He’s got the skills or else every expert out there wouldn’t be calling him the top prospect in the draft. And if he lands with the Bears, it’s a great situation for him.

Caleb wasn’t stealing crab legs from Publix stores or assaulting women in college. He’s not Jameis. He may be a cry baby who has some growing up to do, but I don’t think he’s a criminal.

Stop it. I get he didn't work out but Winston actually beat winning teams, clean sweeped all the QB awards, the Heisman, and won the national championship.

I don't know by what you're measure being a "better football player" but far as their college careers go Winston obliterates Caleb.

By your logic, every Heisman Trophy winner should be the first overall pick.

Okay there, Doctor. Let's look at how Jameis obliterated Caleb Williams with how their college careers went, shall we?

I'll go by Williams' USC career only to make this easy so they both have 2 years to compare:

Passing: Williams 8,170 yards. Winston 7,964 yards
Passsing Touchdowns: Williams 72. Winston 65
Yards Per Game: Williams 314.2. Winston 295.
Rushing yards: Williams 503. Winston 284
Rushing TDs: Williams 21. Winston 7.
Completion %: Williams 67%. Winston 66%.
QB Rating: Williams 169. Winston 163.
Interceptions: Williams 10. Winston 28

Awards:
Caleb Williams: Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Trophy, AP College Player of the Year, Walter Camp Award, First Team Pac 12, Pac-12 POY
Jameis Winston: Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Award, Davey O'Brien Award, AP College Player of Year, ACC Offensive PLayer of Year, First Team ACC

Not sure what you're a doctor of, but it sure as hell ain't football knowledge.

Couldn't help but notice how you left out that Winston lost all of 1 game his whole career.

Meanwhile Caleb went 1-5 most recently and didn't win anything but a bowl game 3 years ago.

Oh, so now we're going by records and titles? Okay...by your measurement, Stetson Bennett was 100 times better of a college quarterback than Patrick Mahomes.

Your best off just not talking about football there, doctor.

Red herring. Not who we're talking about but if you want to keep moving the goalposts you are welcome to but at the end of the day you'll lose. Because Caleb is a loser. There's no getting around that.

Dude you just claimed that Jameis Winston’s numbers obliterated Caleb Williams, I proved that statement was 100% false, and now you’re the one trying to move goalposts. Face it, that statement you made was completely and utterly stupid. Just fess up to it.

Omg I feel like I’m talking with my 5-year old nephew. I highlighted it above yet you’re still trying to backtrack. Good Lord I need a drink. One day you’ll be old enough to have one too.
