Re: Week 15 Discussion
My dream scenario...
Bucs win the South with, say, an 8-9 record. Both the Cowboys & Eagles win out to finish 14-3 giving the Cowboys the East and relegating the Eagles to a Wild Card slot. The Eagles retain the 5th seed sending them to Tampa because division winners get a home playoff game. Tampa then goes on to beat the Eagles who have 6 more wins than the Bucs. I'd love it. The meltdowns in the City of Brotherly Love would be epic.

Could low key sneak into a top 6 pick.

Then who are the Chargers tanking to get?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 1:50 pmNot all tanking is QB related. You know this. Eliminated teams rest guys at the end of the season with minor injuries every year.

Re: Week 15 Discussion
You don’t often tank for individual players. You tank to have better options.

Marvin Harrison Jr, Brock Bowers, Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu, Malik Nabers, or Romeo Odunze? Any of them could help on the offensive side of the ball.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 1:55 pmThen who are the Chargers tanking to get?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 1:50 pm

So they need ANOTHER WR after taking 1 with their 1st round pick in April? Sweet.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 3:05 pmMarvin Harrison Jr, Brock Bowers, Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu, Malik Nabers, or Romeo Odunze? Any of them could help on the offensive side of the ball.

Re: Week 15 Discussion
I don’t get it. Are you more likely to get a difference maker at pick #5 or pick #15?
There are more options the earlier you pick.
Re: Week 15 Discussion
ONLY if the Bucs win on the last play because Vea shoves a 4th and goal tush push back for a two-yard loss.Buc2 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 1:13 pm My dream scenario...

Re: Week 15 Discussion
Just some non-QB names I tossed out from the top 10-15 on most draft boards. Chargers could be looking for defense, there's options there too.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 3:07 pmSo they need ANOTHER WR after taking 1 with their 1st round pick in April? But they have reasons to look at WR looking at the team. Allen isn't getting any younger (year older and one more season played than Evans), Williams can't stay healthy and Johnston's skills haven't translated to the pro level yet. Getting your QB some reliable weapons is never a bad idea. Being able to get a possible generational talent like Harrison Jr is almost always a good move even if you are comfortable with who you have (not likely based on where they will be drafting, but crazier things have happened).
Three of the names I tossed out aren't WRs. Bowers is a massive talent at TE, one of the few in recent drafts that is outstanding as a pass catcher and a blocker, would not be just the Chargers that would benefit from drafting him. Either Alt or Fashanu would upgrade the offensive line where the Chargers have had troubles this year.
Re: Week 15 Discussion
More likely to get one emerging from your 53 man roster. You know, the one's playing and practicing with pros. Learning from pro coaches.
Which if they do emerge, you do better, you play better, you win more, you tank less.
Re: Week 15 Discussion
I went to their board and wow, you would think they were Bucs fansBuc2 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 1:13 pm My dream scenario...

Re: Week 15 Discussion
I have yet to hear from literally anybody how you are supposed to tackle a guy from behind any other way.
Tackle a runner around the shoulders? He's gonna run away from ya. Around the chest? Ditto. Dive at his legs and hope you clap his heels together? Desperate and unlikely to work.
You grab a dude around the waist and bring him to the ground. Especially if he's SPRINTING away from you, there's no other way to do it.
Banning or making this a penalty would literally kill the sport, and I'm not prone to doomsinging hyperbole.

Our redzone offense for scoring TD's is last in the league at home games. Way worse than anybody else.
