Bowles, we are waiting!!!
Raiders are expected to hire former Cardinals’ head coach Kliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator, per league sources.

Think Peetz is my top choice at the moment. Kentucky fans don’t think too highly of Coen. Peetz has that smug McVay look that is highly irritating but also highly correlated with success lol

Okay, I have a new #1.
What? Why?

Just because he worked with Baker Mayfield?
Short version. Has legit OC experience. Very much off the McVay block. Knows coaches. Absolutely can hit the ground running here.

He groomed Levis. Kentucky offense took a big dip in ppg when Coen left for a year. They sore he's flimsy and unfaithful. I personally don't care.

I'm thinking the reason we're having problems getting an OC hired is the uncertainty of both Evans and Baker.

There's a very possible reality in which both leave, so any OC that signs on will be taking the chance at having fuck all for QB and WR play.

And meanwhile Baker and Evans wanna know who the OC is before re-signing. It’s a bit of a situation!

If we're honest about it, we thought Canales was too green also

Seems to have worked out ok by the end of the season
If Canales was Green, Thad is waaay green. Canales spent 13 years as position coach in Seattle, Thad’s spent what 2 years as one?
Thad has been a NFL position coach for three years, but importantly also spent eight years in the NFL as a professional quarterback on eight different teams with eight different offenses. Speaking as a dude who spent time in a few different spots myself, that gives you a well-rounded football education if you keep your eyes and ears open.

Lewis' experience doesn't worry me. Just like Canales before him, I wonder if he has chops as a playcaller, and unfortunately there ain't no way to know until you see it.

The Patriots had no trouble signing an OC and they don't even have a QB or #1 WR.

I do not know enough about this guy to have an opinion at the point. With Bowles batting 1-3 with OCs I am nervous, but perhaps he has turned the corner and this will make his record 2-3.

Per some random SI article previewing the Gamecocks vs Wildcats game this year, Kentucky uses alot of outside run concepts and playaction and was using presnap motion on 90% of its plays last season. This Liam Coen already has some positives in my book.

link: https://www.si.com/college/southcarolin ... ed%20pass.

Then again, Coen is a pretty safe proposition. He's been a OC at the NFL level (though given that he was under McVay who actually calls plays this was just in name only), he has worked with Baker, and he has a resume to speak of as a playcaller even if it was just for college.

Good for him, hope he does good things.

It's being reported as such by every major media outlet, so while ink hasn't yet hit paper from what I understand it's basically a done deal.

I'm super hyped. Barring a full fledged HC gig again, I think he sticks around too. A dream spot, he has full control of the offense, a good OL, a QB that fits and whom he believes in. One of the best defensive minds on the otherside and the support of one of the best GMs.

Oh the hopium train continues! Bring back our boys Dom!

Shocker there. We could bring in Josh Freeman and you’d try and find a way to spin it that we’re going to the Super Bowl.

I was wary of some options. Coen was my top pick.

And I don't think you should be so snappy while still chewing on that crow mister.
