McKay was a horrible GM, Brad Johnson's arm turned into a noodle, etc etc.

The team got what they deserved that year. My 1st year in college, I'll never forget. Bruce Allen was signed here to be Gruden's errand boy. We let Sapp and Lynch walk. McCardell didn't get a new deal and we traded him to the Chargers. We did very little to get better as a team and it showed.

Gruden was in charge of player personnel. That's why Rich McKay left and went to Atlanta. Gruden wanted all these veterans except for the veterans already on the team.
