I'm right there with you. It just feels like getting the leftovers. Another guard? Unless Black is smart enough to avoid the hero ball antics Cole and Suggs are so prone to, I don't know how much of a difference this is going to make. I hope I'm wrong tooMiller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 7:29 pm Honestly think the Magic botched the draft hard. Anthony Black has talent but is a horrible fit and now we have to trade one of our young guards. Taking Jett Howard over Gradey Dick was puzzling too. Hopefully I’m wrong because this was a crucial draft for the Magic with two lottery picks, but I’m not thrilled.

Re: NBA other than NY thread:
I’m selling myself more on Black, he definitely can be a Tyrese Haliburton type player. I still think the fit is questionable though, and it feels like 2018 all over again where we missed out on top tier talent and are settling for next best available regardless of fit. Portland jumping us in the lottery standings hurt bad.
I still don’t get Jett at 11 over Gradey and Hawkins, but at least he’s a three point shooter I suppose.

The Miami Heat are reportedly "prepared to offer a package" centered around Tyler Herro, possibly Duncan Robinson and picks for Damian Lillard

Re: NBA other than NY thread:
Portland is supposedly listening to anyone on a Dame trade and if it is Miami, they need a third team to take Herro. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

I’m glad he didn’t go to Miami, nice to see a small market team make a big splash instead.

Giannis just signed an extension with Milwaukee after the Dame trade. Nice to see a small market get a star and keep their star. Gives hope for franchises that aren’t the Lakers and Heat.

I agree...at least in theory.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 11:43 pm Giannis just signed an extension with Milwaukee after the Dame trade. Nice to see a small market get a star and keep their star. Gives hope for franchises that aren’t the Lakers and Heat.
However, when an NBA star wants out, they always ALWAYS get it, so to me, this isn't him signing with Milwaukee, it's him signing a huge deal is awesome for him.
AD bitches, gets his way out of NO. Harden bitches, gets his way out of HOU...and BKN...and now probably PHI.
If you're an ALL NBA player and you want out....you're getting out.

I legit think the Clippers are going to regret this. Especially since they gave up an unprotected 2028 first.
Nobody else wanted Harden for a reason.

I've said this forever...James Harden is a rich mans' Melo....and he's aging...and not scoring as much...and, by all accounts, is a whiny baby. Not sure why anybody would want him on their team.

Please allow me this moment to eat shit on Anthony Black. If Fultz and Judah could play a regular night the Magic would be near unstoppable. I haven't even this excited since....Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 12:12 am Magic are 11-5 and on a 6 game winning streak after blowing out the Celtics today. 2nd seed in the East.

Also an enormous shout out to Suggs and Anthony. They went to discombobulated and disconnected in their play from the rest of the team to smart and fluid seemingly overnight. It's almost a master class of professional growth by these guys

Magic second unit has been crazy good this season. Cole, Moe, Isaac, Gary Harris and even Ingles has contributed despite struggling to score.
Re: NBA other than NY thread:
The way they pull away and just go on a scoring spree in these 4th quarters has been impressive. 40+ in the 4th against the Nuggets last week was awesome to see.
I agree @These Are The Days. Magic basketball hasn't been this good since the days of Howard, Nelson, Hedo, Reddick, Gortat.

It's not that I can't believe what a great player Franz Wagner is. It's just that I had no clue they'd be getting arguably the best player in that draft. Suggs is maturing magnificently and I am so proud of him. And Paolo? *chef's kiss* he was the last guy I thought the Magic were taking and what a grand slam it is turning out to be. It won't be long until players ask to be traded to the Magic if this keeps up. Making the choice to walk away from Vuc and Gordon and committing to a rebuild was the best decision this franchise has ever made. They weren't going anywhere with that team. This? This may be special
Re: NBA other than NY thread:
I hope so. Not going to lie though, trading Vuc was a hard pill to swallow for me. I think it was mostly out of spite seeing as the Magic got him in the Howard trade but he turned into such a great player. Better than what Howard was providing the team. These Are The Days wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 5:14 pmThe drafting has been on pointBootz wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 12:48 pm The way they pull away and just go on a scoring spree in these 4th quarters has been impressive. 40+ in the 4th against the Nuggets last week was awesome to see.

27 straight loss on any professional sports
Should the 76-77' Bucs pop the champagne?

The Milwaukee Bucks just fired Adrian Griffin after just 43 games as HC, the shortest NBA coaching tenure in history excluding interims. What makes it even crazier is that they were 30-13.
