Please don’t let the Leafs win. They are most annoying fanbase on the planet easily. God makes them suffer for a reason.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Toronto's power play is fast as shit.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
What the actual fuck.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Okay, Vasy is an octopus. I'm convinced.
If they don't win this for him, that is #1 bullshit.

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
But seriously, that overtime made me lose about 2 years. Toronto was so much better, but Vasy did Vasy things, and then it was over. I think I scared not only my dogs, but also my neighbors' dogs when I left the couch in celebration.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO THE NEIGHBORS DOGS TO MAKE THEM SCARED OF YOU?!!!!
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
I'm getting excited.
Did anyone go to/watch the Rays v. Jays game yesterday? Bottom of the 8th, as the Rays get a rally going, the stadium system played Thunderstruck. I laughed out loud. Mucho props, Tropicana staff....

These guys are insane. Dude is off balance, getting checked, has the puck poke checked away, but still kicked it back up to himself and ripped off a shot to the one square inch of the net that is open?
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
I have to think Toronto is getting frustrated. They are kicking our asses up and down the ice. Aside from Vasy doing Vasy things, they are far and away the better team. And they're losing again.

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Difficult position for that Leafs next season. From a Cap Perspective they have very little mobility on their Offense and did not spend enough on their defense.
Can't make it far in the playoffs just being a finesse team. Gave up the most goals for a playoff team in the conference during the regular season and tied for the league overall.
In elimination games Defense wins.

Their defense wasn't too bad in that elimination game from what I saw. That the Lightning got 2 goals from a guy that had never scored before was fortuitous, to say the least.Digital_Damage wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 10:05 am Difficult position for that Leafs next season. Those 2 rebound goals were huge. Just proves once again, that when you throw a lot of pucks on goal, good things can happen.

Kutcherov is seriously pissed off at them for some reason. That ankle break in game 1 was just filthy and now that pass to Colton. I expect them to try and rough him up game 3.

Special Teams has been the story through two games. Forget the 0/24 memes. Our boys are laying out to clog shooting lanes and taking it (literally) on the chin to block shots. That's Championship hockey play and I dare you to find me another team doing what we are doing.

Clinical. Bobrovsky did his damnedest to keep the series from sudden death, but the Bolts fully committed to defending from two lines out and it was awesome. Rinse, repeat.

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Lightning (and most of the league) had him figured out for a while now. His team has not helped him any either. To many Florida players looking for the break instead of clogging up the lanes. Thier coach has a really tough decision to make between games now. Bobrovsky and Knight are a push and both are not top 15.
You can discuss regular season all you want, but the power in the East has always been.
Carolina
Tampa
New York Rangers
Toronto
Boston
Florida
Pittsburg
Washington
Tough break for the Islanders this season. If they didn't miss the payoffs due to injury, they would have squeezed in-between Toronto and Boston in my book.

That seems like a disrespectful take, but I get where you're coming from.Digital_Damage wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:48 pmLightning (and most of the league) had him figured out for a while now. Before the chase, I'd go
TOR
FLA
CAR
NYR
TAM
BOS
WAS
PIT
But it's all hindsight at this point. Bolts look great. Florida looks ass. That's the current meta.

Toronto and Florida both had piss poor defense all season. People get caught up in the Dif, but do not look at the goals allowed.
Florida let a Washington team that is just playing to get Ovechkin his All-time Goal title take them to 6 (almost went to 7). Which I fully support Washington doing. My 9.5 graded Ovi Young Gun has hit 5k, will sell when he captures it.
Boston had a fairly balanced game. If Boston and Florida had met up in the playoffs this season I think it goes to Boston. They pushed Carolina right to the edge.
Carolina is scarry good, built for the playoffs. Can only hope NY pulls off a miracle so we can go up against that inexperienced crew.
The Rangers are going to be incredible for a long time if they can keep that young core together.
