Good for him. Leave physically and hopefully mentally intact. Played with some GOATs. Is a champion.

Good for him. God I hope he gave us a heads up.

At this point re-sign both Cappa and Stinnie asap.

Can't blame him. He's got tons of money, won a ring and made All Pro. He's set for life and can enjoy the fruits of his labor

7 years. Played exceptionally well at the highest level. Got recognized for it as one of the best in the league. Won a ring. Made a ton of money. Going out on his terms.

Not bad for a kid from Hobarts.

Sucks for us but I get it. He's set for life, he got a ring and he got to play in front of the GOAT. I can't really say they was a lot left to keep him in the game. Retire healthy and live large

Indeed. Honestly, with all the CTE stuff and everything else, it's not hard to understand. I mean if he's savvy with his money he can grow it faster than anything he can earn in the NFL while keeping his health.

Marpet ROH material? I’m thinking yes, though a couple more seasons would’ve solidified it.

So this essentially frees up 10mil. Gotta think OL priorities shoot up, though sounds like they have had discussions about this potentially happening within the org. So gotta think they have a plan.

Either way, going to be hard to fill in his shoes. But if we can bring back 2/3 between Jensen, Cappa, Stinnie and hope for the best with what Hainsey will be we should be ok…

Crazy thing is we’re just as likely to win the division as we are having a top 5 pick at this juncture. We’ll have a much clearer picture 2 months from now

I wish him all the luck! I think we shall see more and more do this while they can, especially if they have even decent money-management skills.

Great pick and great 7 years. Good for Ali.

Selfishly I wanted Ali around another 5 years, but I respect the man and the decision.

Sucks. Great player. Probably had another 5+ great seasons left, too. Best of luck to him, but he's 28, he's made $37 Mil, and he's by all accounts a super smart guy, so I think he'll be fine.

I'm thinking Cappa just got re-signed.

Great career, great player. Wish Marpet all future success moving forward.

This changes our offseason calculus significantly.

After Brady retiring my heart is too cold to mourn long.

And we do have some cheaper options available in Stinnie and Hainsey. Maybe Cappa too if we can get him on a good deal, but I’ve heard he could get 10 million and at that price I’d rather re-sign Jensen.

A few more years and I think he would have gotten some hall of fame consideration. Smart man though. He will be fine. The Buccaneers perhaps not so much.

Good for him. Makes you think that either Cappa or Jensen are as high priority as it gets right now.

Best o-line pick since Davin Joseph. Obviously Wirfs is on pace to take over that distinction, but still.

The entire division looks like it will be trash.

If the Bucs can play good defense we have a shot to be playing meaningful games in December. Which as a lifelong Bucs fan on the wrong side of 40, I'll take it.

Good luck, Ali. He’s had concussion issues. I hope he’s getting out before causing any permanent damage.
