Welcome WR Russell Gage

Post by Dread »

Bucs fill the AB role.

Shifty WR who excels at beating m2m coverage which is great compliment to what Evans and Godwin do.

This is an interesting signing to me. He has a lot of Godwin traits. Similar size, tough after the catch, plus blocker. I think this is more so insurance for Godwin as he likely won't be ready to go at the start of the year.

Very nice pickup. Another AB role without the headache. This guy won't even think of taking off his pads and running to the locker room shirtless because of a coaching disagreement.

Like it. A bit of a surprise, but definitely will be a great target option for Brady.

Wow, another great signing by JL! I didn't even realize that he was available and it takes away an asset from the Falcons. Should be some very interesting restructures coming up by the Bucs. I would imagine that he is probably pretty happy about the move to Brady's team.

We can hope. Seems like a good pickup.

The Falcons played five top-10 defenses during that eight game stretch.

Saints (#4) - 9/126, TD
Bills (#1) - 3/50
49ers (#5) - 8/91, TD
Bucs (#7) - 11/130
Patriots (#3) - 5/49

Small sample size, but that would project to

122 REC, 1516 YDS and 7 TD

in a 17 game season.

 I'm guessing we have no long term plans for Godwin here.

3 WRs making $10mil+ this year. Wow.

Should have been 3 years, 28 million just to piss off the Falcons.

Guess when should remember who our HC is. He don't care about blocking. QB needs to get the ball out before he gets hit.

Don't know if we could afford Godwin at this point depending on how highly the market is going. A mediocre WR in Kirk got a 4/74(84 max) deal, and a top WR in Devante Adams apparently turned down a 23/yr deal and wants to surpass Hopkins 27/yr. May just not be worth it long term.

Then we need to bite the bullet and trade him.

So? If it works it works. 20 mil guaranteed, that money can be kicked down the road. His hit this year could be lower.

So many people worried about money these days. I think GMs are predicting the kicking down the road money for the higher cap.

We're not trading Chris Godwin under any context this offseason. Better?

With Brady returning this year is all that matters. We're trying to win another super bowl here, not be spend another decade being shitty-to-mediocre but be in great salary cap shape #ItsABucsLife. We've all had that experience and it sucked imo.

Let Bootz the contrarian whine about the cap down the road.
