Since we decided not to do anything selling at the trade deadline, the silver lining is that essentially our entire starting offense is under contract next year. So if we manage to get someone like Will Levi's, he's a plug and play QB with a good supporting cast for his rooker season.

With any luck Bowles will be fired and someone like Ken Dorsey or the Ocoord of the Eagles takes over and we have a great starting point to continue being a winning franchise.

There are always a bunch of teams looking for QBs. We’ll be one of them and it looks like we’ll be picking in the top 10 with every passing Sunday.
I’d like to keep the majority of the roster intact (as much as possible considering cap implications), and then add a 1st round QB with some athletic ability. Trask can serve as the backup.

This roster has plenty of talent. There could be a quick turnaround back to real relevance. Football related relevance.

Would you prefer a 6th rounder beats Trask out for the starting job or a 1st rounder?

Roster wise my preference would be the 6th rounder.

Corum is more explosive than Gore ever was. To me, Corum looks a bit like a young Maurice Jones-Drew.

Would love to get my hands on Michael Mayer. We obviously miss Gronk this year and this guy's as close to Gronk as you will ever find in the Draft. An absolute monster with hands and can bust people up with his blocking.

Probably a pipe dream unless we bottom out. I don't quite see Gronk there (IMHO, it's like comparing someone to Deion or Moss), but I could see Antonio Gates.

He looks like he has unconventional proportions which makes a comp tough. I’ll have to think about that one.

He also looks completely different from a couple of years ago. I've only watched him play twice. The first time I saw him, I thought he was shifty and had great hands. This time, he is suddenly a monster of a man who is scary and mean and shifty and has great hands.

Yeah but who’s our QB if we draft Michael Mayer?

Please don’t say Trask because he’s a effing joke

Mayer will be wasted draft pick here if he have no qb like Trask

And no Lamar Jackson is not coming here

In the last two years what 1st round QB is making our team shine? Build the team for optimal success.

@Cheb Wayne Ruby - Cheb I'm all for taking a look at this guy if he doesnt get drafted. He is DivIII Mount Union please take a look at his stats.

Also Pete has inspired me to look at the Patriot league, so I was curious about Holy Cross and what strength has them undefeated. Their cornerbacks look pretty good. Not to stop there I checked out who was CB and Safety coaches.

University of West Florida Argonauts, David Darden. This guy scores atleast a TD in just about every game he plays in.

There is player projection and then there are players that actually do it.

Ruby is super productive as a receiver, but he's beating up against inferior competition. I would have to watch him play before I could make any assumptions about his pro projection.

The same was said about Ali Marpet. He was a Div III player who got invited to the Senior Bowl and was throwing P5 guys left and right.

Jeremiah Trotter, Jr., is only a sophomore, but in every game I watch, he explodes off the screen. He would make a fantastic Lavonte replacement, assuming Lavonte is closing out his career in the next couple of years.

Can't argue with what you are saying other than DivI also has a high degree of inferior competition as far as making it to the NFL - they might get one contract and do next to nothing.
That word prestigious gets in there far to often.

The "you're older than you think you are" player of the day. Also, a former Buc, as the hardcores might remember. Signed in '07 in case we wanted a Mike who wouldn't be blown out of the hole by a stiff breeze (lookin' at you, Barrett Ruud.) As I recall Trotter got hurt and missed most of the year anyway.

6 TD's in 2 playoff games and I'll check on what he does tomorrow.
