They have our number. I don't want to see this team again. That game was not as close as the score indicated. The Rams took their foot off the gas when they had the victory in the bag.
If we make the plays we were making last year, we're still a better team than they are. I believe that 100%.

If we play like we have the first three games, we're going to go in the trash bin of one-and-done Superbowl teams rather quickly in the playoffs.

Did you find it weird we started the game with Brate and Tyler Johnson?

We were definitely running some 12 personnel as I recall, so Brate got some snaps. I've made my case for Tyler Johnson's value and I think he's making a pretty good case himself to this point.

There really wasn't much that surprised me about the offensive gameplan except for how we gave up on the run so easily. I don't think we're a first half running team, and we basically didn't run in the 2nd half. Arians has kind of made it clear that if we're down 14 in the 3rd quarter, we're not going to run anymore. So I guess in that sense, I wasn't surprised. I just don't like it. I would basically never stop running unless the clock situation was just too prohibitive. Even if you're down late in a competitive game, well-timed runs can gain big yardage against soft defenses. The Rams were playing soft most of the 2nd half with the lead, and we still didn't seem interested in running on them.

Stafford settled in and trusted his o-line and the times Brady could not we suffered for it. There were some throws by Brady that were off and we definitely needed those.

At the end of the first half with the strip sack who was Brady trying to get the ball to? I would love to see an overhead of that play.

Except you are leaving out the part where we cannot force our will in the running game, it just hardly ever happens, even in a blowout. It does get somewhat better if are punishing them in the passing game - but of course that was not this year ------------------- yet.

Honestly that’s a huge IF. Sadly, last year should not be the bar but it seems that it is as far as this team is concerned. Time for everyone, Bucs organization and Bucs fans alike, to wake up and realize that every week teams will be gunning to be better than the team that beat the Chiefs 31-9. The Bucs should be trying to be better than that team but they aren’t. And it’s showing.

I don’t know about that, everybody said the same thing about Chiefs whooping us badly at home. Cheetah had 200 yards receiving or something. That motivated the team, hopefully this does as well

We just didn’t show up and it looks like we are full of ourselves.

There were a lot of those moments this game. The Dean drop, the Gronk miss, the false start by Josh Wells, the BS "forward" lateral, the back-to-back "we're not calling an obvious pick by the Rams but we are calling a much lesser pick on Gronk" etc.

We did not play well, we did not get the benefit of the bounces, we did not get the benefit of the calls, and we did not get the benefit of health. And we still were in that game into the 4th quarter on the road against a good/great team.

I don't think the sky is falling, but I do think we need to start making the plays we were making last year, especially the front seven.
You mean the plays the Bucs didn't make in at least half the games last year?

The Bucs have a good team. Right now the Rams are a better team. There may currently be other better teams. The loss probably should have surprised no one but it apparently has. This is all likely because what is remembered is the end of last season rather than most of last season which was a bit spotty. That's led to the belief by too many including those in the media that figured this was some sort of unstoppable juggernaut that it never has been.

The chances of repeating have always been pretty small due to many different factors including pure luck. The team has plenty of time to correct what's wrong and even doing so may not help in the long run.
Spot on. This game was the team that lost 5 games last year, and had other very close calls.

They finished the year with 9 in a row and 2 to start this season, so fans got a little jaded, but they aren’t infallible.

Let’s hope this was a wake up call.

It's a little concerning when you're three games into the season and there have been virtually no moments of competence by your defense. Not dominance. Competence. Mike Edwards's big day aside, we've looked Raheem era on that side of the ball. And the offense, while productive in the passing game, can't run block or run. Throw in the law of averages predictably catching up with our health, and here we are. One game we deserved to lose, one game we beat a terrible team, one game we got beaten pretty solid.

None of this means that we won't get it together. And personally I think it'll be fine. But again, we're looking at last year's team to justify not freaking out, because through three games this hasn't looked like a complete football team, much less a contending one.

When the run scheme is as bad as ours is I get abandoning the run.
