It's all right. I'm taking over the thread because "Bootz" is my least favorite topic around here.
Thank God it is! Should be everyone's least favorite topic.
That doesn't mean you're off the hook. You still talk too much. I'm sure you disagree, but we can table that for now.

Somebody tracked penalties that directly took points off the board and Smith led there as well.
He actually got worse!

It would probably take trading Donovan Smith and a 5th round draft choice to another team in return for a 7th round draft choice to get rid of LT Smith and his salary. The Bucs need to rid themselves of Smith's contract.

Whatever it takes. If we can trade him to save more on the cap, then major kudos to Licht. But that base salary is pretty big.

It's almost like he should have schemed more help for our awful left tackle. Seemed like almost all of his lowlights happened when he was on an island, usually with a good pass rusher on the other side.

What am I saying, that sounds like gameplanning.

That would be like 3 receivers against seven in coverage.

Rachaad White tweeted goodbye to #29. Sucks for me bc I was happy to have a #29 to be excited about.

Also points to us having a new kicker next year (duh).

Saw that too, figured Succop would be a cap casualty. Glad White gets his preferred number now.

DS ain't what he used to be... But it seems that Leftwich set him up for failure.

We have an okay draft pick, this class of OTs is pretty deep, and cutting Donovan "Kenyatta Walker" Smith saves us 14 milly in cap space.

The answer seems pretty obvious to me.

@Nobody What's your general view of our rookie class?

Can Rachaad White be a true #1 back or do you think his best fit is staying as a really good rotational player?

Is Hainsey a starting center?

Do you think Goedeke can be salvaged or is this likely a whiff by Licht?

How do you feel about moving McCollum to safety? His supreme athleticism, speed, and size could give us a true center fielder.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

I don’t know this for a fact, but I think Tom wanted his RB/TE security blanket out in the route and subsequently overruled anyone suggesting otherwise.

Leftwich - “Damn, 76 is getting killed every play. I need to put some help over there.”

Tom - “Don’t worry about it. I’ll get the ball out before 11 (or insert other prolific pass rusher) can get to me.”

It had to be some kind of schematic principle we had. Nobody could be stupid enough to keep doing it all year unless it was on purpose.

Unfortunately, once Front Page Sports Football ceased being made and Madden took over there has been little to know play design available to players. Due to this, you really can't fault Leftwich for not knowing how to adjust things.

We could have had 2 RBs in the backfield, one to go out in a pattern, one to help block, just sayin'

I started a thread for these last two classes. I got through Otton so far.

Right now I'm not feeling very inclined toward finishing this project (given that we're staring down the barrel of at least 2 years of "oof"). If I can find the motivation and the time, I'll finish the project. Right now, I'm not equipped to have enough of an opinion on most of that. I can say a little bit.

* Yes on White. Breaks tackles, forces missed tackles in the open field, vision/patience/discipline in Zone, great route runner and natural pass-catcher. Absolute win.

* Hainesy's floor is "At Replacement Cost" Center. Hainsey's ceiling is "Solid Center."

I'll say more on the rest of this class and last year's class if I finish that project.

Wasn't he a middling coach for the Lions when he was their OC?

I wanted the Bucs to swing for the fences. This is a bunt.

This kinda tells me the direction we'll go. I suspected Bowles would be looking at coaches who have prior OC and playcalling experience. Tells me that even though BA is still in the building he wants him to have as minimal impression as possible on the new OC.
