Is anyone planning on attending the Bucs first game against the Commanders? I'll be sitting in the shade this time because last year I couldn't handle the intense heat at the stadium during the Bears game. It was so damn hot!

I wonder if he would’ve taken 10 years 300m, 200m guaranteed. Pinky promise never to hold out again.

Wow!!
Ever since I saw that video of him jumping out of the swimming pool onto the patio, I knew that cat was special.

I think they'd have to price it a bit lower or it's not going to be worth switching for too many people. Is ESPN+ part of this package?

Thanks. This appears to be limited to someone who primarily watches sports. Anyone who watches the major networks, local news and a few other popular streamed station offered through, for example since I have it, Youtube TV wouldn't really be able to go this route assuming they want those options.Phantom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 3:02 pmFour Verticals wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 2:57 pm

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
After seeing our RB play this preseason I’m now of the belief we need to be running 3 WR, 2 RB, 0 TE sets as our base offense.
(20 personnel? Idk the name)
Between White, Tucker, and Irving we have 3 potential playmakers. Otton is trash and that’s the best we have at TE.
We have 4 WRs who all look good possibly more.
And it all plays to Bakers style as a mobile, gritty QB.
3 wide with 2 RBs in the backfield. Creative play calling. Could be a really nice offense.
The Dolphins seem to do it every year why can’t we

You think Otton is trash? May I ask why? Baker seems to have developed good chemistry with him.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Statistically, Otton was good IIRC. when looking at his place among the league’s TEs. But you soon realize it’s not a deep position in the league.
Otton is a cromulent starter. Soft hands and a feel for zones. Most importantly, he’s cheap. The entire room is dirt cheap.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Otton is serviceable at worst, and you need a tight end to run out of 3 WR sets in the modern NFL.

Why the hell did they have to reach an agreement with him?? He never showed up for OTAs or mini camp. The only agreement they should've reached is get the fuck outta here!!

The agreement could be to rescind the fines in exchange for no payment.

Yup. He has basically been fined past the value of his contract.Four Verticals wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 10:27 am The agreement could be to rescind the fines in exchange for no payment.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
That guy has been a piece of shit his whole life. Academically ineligible for college right off the bat. Failed drug tests left and right ever since he joined the league. Always in coach's doghouse everywhere he's been. And now he pulls this stunt.
Here's to hoping other teams take notice and he never goes anywhere near an NFL football field again!!

Cade Otton's stats, per PFR:
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... toCa00.htm
Bearing in mind I only watched 7 or so TB games last season, but to me Otton looked like a decent TE. Certainly, I've seen a lot worse. He can run his routes properly and has soft hands.
"Cromulent," lol. Interesting way to say "decent." I mean, he probably isn't top-5 or -10, but I'd guess he's above bottom tier. Guess I'll have to watch him more closely.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Cade Otton per PFF-
Receiving: #41 TE
Blocking: #48 TE
#21 TE in rec yards
#19 TE in fantasy
NOTHING about Cade Otton shows he is anything more than a generic, below average TE. His stats are below average, his PFF ratings are below average. After this years draft TE is now the weakest position on our entire roster.
Form an offensive scheme that plays to our strengths (strong WRs and 3 serviceable RBs)

Meh. I'm not the biggest fan of PFF grades. Partly because they don't really tell you how they come to their conclusions. And some of their grades have proven to be way off in the recent past. But I take your point; Otton hasn't shown much. Yet. I think he could have a breakout type of year in 2024 in this offense. We'll have to wait and see.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Listened to the Training Camp Special on NFL Radio (Sirius/XM), about the Bucs yesterday (I believe it initially aired on Tuesday). Anyone else hear it? I thought it was very encouraging. There were interviews with Mayfield, a completely likeable guy... and I do like him, I just don't think he's a good QB. Also interviews with Licht, Bowles, Wirfs, White, & Winfield. Between the lines, here's what I heard...
From Licht... he almost got fired after the 2019 season.
From Licht, Bowles, and White... Tucker is "a guy", Irving is "the backup", and White will have the same role.
From Mayfield & White... expect a lot more motion and 3-wide sets with McMillan and I believe Palmer will have a similar role.
From Bowles & Winfield... the secondary is going to be hit and miss from week to week.
From Wirfs... the OLine is getting better week to week, but right now, might not be as good as last year.
From everyone (not Winfield), they're not upset Canales found a new job.

Sounds like a lot of realism (non-homerism) there.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:30 am Listened to the Training Camp Special on NFL Radio (Sirius/XM), about the Bucs yesterday (I believe it initially aired on Tuesday). Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I don't think that's either... it's an opinion where I'm reading between the lines. For example, when the GM, HC, and starting RB agree on something (I'll quote Rachaad White), "We're going to be doing a lot of motion out there. I feel sorry for Mike and Chris being old guys [chuckling with hosts], having to move around a lot out there." From Bowles "It's nice seeing the guys out there again [referencing Evans and Godwin], being more active along the line." A Wirfs comment, "I'm really impressed with Mack (referencing McMillan), and seeing how well the offense moves when he's out there with Mike and Chris on the other side."Buc2 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:34 amSounds like a lot of realism (non-homerism) there.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:30 am Listened to the Training Camp Special on NFL Radio (Sirius/XM), about the Bucs yesterday (I believe it initially aired on Tuesday). From those quotes, I hear: Our offense will be more deceptive to the defense (more motion), and that McMillan is the #3 lining up outside with Evans on the other wing with Godwin in the slot on Evans' side. I also hear, from Bowles, that this is something he's glad to see, because we weren't doing that with Canales as the OC.
I don't think that's realism or homerism or anything else. Someone may have a different opinion. Coaches and players never come out say exactly what they mean and they never trash someone who isn't there anymore... unless it needed to be called out.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Well, obviously, you had the benefit of actually hearing all this. I only had the blurbs you posted to go by. The 2 come off totally different.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 1:55 pmI don't think that's either... it's an opinion where I'm reading between the lines. Venu appears to be on hold for the time being as FuboTV has jumped in for legal assistance which has been granted.Four Verticals wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 1:01 pmThanks. "FuboTV claims it was prevented from offering a sports bundle of its own by ESPN, FOX and Warner Bros. Discovery, who went on to band together and form Venu Sports.
“United States District Judge Margaret M. Garnett in the Southern District of New York said in her 69-page ruling Friday that Fubo was likely to be successful in proving that the joint venture would violate antitrust laws and that Fubo and consumers would “face irreparable harm in the absence of an injunction,” reports ESPN."
