Salivating at the prospect of landing Myles Garrett
PFF top 101 players of 2025, Garrett comes in at #2 behind Lamar Jackson.
2. EDGE Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns
Garrett led all defensive linemen who played at least 300 snaps with a 92.3 overall grade and a 92.8 pass-rush grade. This was his fourth consecutive season with at least a 92.0 overall grade. He tied division rival Trey Hendrickson for the most regular season pressures with 83 and recorded an incredible 23.1% pass-rush win rate. Garrett’s resumé speaks for itself at this point. No matter where he plays next season, he can be expected to record elite production.
Why not salivate over Hendrickson? Probably costs less in draft capital and contract.
Regardless, there are a shit ton of rushers available this year. It’s crazy. Great year to need one I guess.

One year left on his deal. They have to pay Chase more than JJ to keep him. Higgins. Burrow already on a max deal.
Don’t see how they can keep them all.
They could if they chose to. Extending Chase & Trey would actually reduce their cap figures and give them more space. And they have more than enough to re-sign Higgins.
That said, they won't because they are the Bengals. The cheapest franchise in the league. They currently sit at $56mil in cap space and can create a ton more if they wanted to and keep people without the drama. But Mike Brown loves to nickle and dime people as much as he can.
Stafford restructures which only saves my ears from having to listen to all the talk about it for a month. Now it's time for ESPN to get back to what really matters like What's going on with the Cowboys!

It’s difficult to pay 4 guys at the very top of the market. But, you’re right. Just like any team you can figure it out. They don’t have anyone else making huge money.
Their history suggests they’ll trade somebody though and it won’t be the guys burrow throws to.
Hendrickson has 17+ sacks in back to back years. He’s certainly expecting another top of the market type contract even at 30 years old.

Right. I think Rankins and BJ Hill are free agents for them. But they are both over 30 years old and that defense was not great. So replacing or re-signing them wouldn't be very difficult. Maybe Mike Gisiki also? But again, over 30 and hes also a TE at that. That shouldn't cost much.
Smart money would be to try and keep this offensive nucleus together as long as possible. They got too cheap trading Mixon last year for a 7th round pick. Chase Brown was a clear downgrade in multiple facets.
It wouldn't shock me if Higgins AND Hendrickson are playing elsewhere next year. Iosivas played well and I could see Brown wanted to take advantage of his cheap price tag going forward. And Hendrickson, while great, was part of one of the worst defenses in football. Brown could use that as a reason to rebuild the D.

Curious what the decision will be. He’s not worth $15M. They save $9M if he’s traded/released.
But the cupboard is BARE.
Along with getting burned regularly, he's very injury prone. In 6 years he's never played a full season. 9 missed games due to injury over the last 2 seasons since he signed that contract.

BREAKING: The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to send WR Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round pick, sources tell Adam Schefter.
The Commanders just got a whole lot better. They put up a huge fight against Philly in the NFCCG. This could be the piece that gets them over the hump.
Deebo hasn’t been a factor since 2021. There’s a reason he went for a 5th. They gave him away. To an NFC team. He’s a diva living off one big season 3 years ago.
Amazing how people froth over a name.

He's had one great season, one good season and two seasons in which he was effective but without the other two seasons no one would notice. Likely it will be an overblown deal in the media.
That Davante deal was just dumb. AR rolled in there and just said give me what I want or I’ll cry. Waste of a pick and now they can pay him like $36M for the privilege.

His Madden rating said he was definitely worth it!

I’m sure they’ll just end up releasing him but damn. Just a shit show over there.
