Also Porter is 68th but almost always someone picks him before our 2nd pick.

I've read that Green and Pearce are likely off their board, so there's that.
This sim I'm looking at - waiting for my pick has

Edge - Scourton 28th, Pearce 30th, and Ezeir 33rd
DT - Harmon 18th, Nolen 26th, Grant 37th
LB - Jihaad 25th, Schwes 48th
CB - Barron 19th, Amos 34th, Revel 41st, Hairston 42nd
S - Starks 20th, Emman 22nd

Make one pick and poof the rest are gone.. I don't know what they think of Harmon. If we go DB, then what is our 2nd pick going to be?
We haven't discussed Harmon much around here for whatever reason. He's one of if not the best pass rushing iDL available.

I think it depends on the DB? Watts is the ball hawking safety type they're talking about so if they took a CB in round one they could be targeting him.

I'd like to get one of these teams that need a QB to move up so we can add another pick or two and address other positions.

Pewter Report won't come off Ezeiruaku being the pick, but the top 4 rotation is pretty solid and they spent a 2nd on Braswell last year. I'd be absolutely fine with Reddick having an incredible season and extending or franchising him. Ezeiruaku becomes redundant in that scenario.

So, I'm leaning DB with both of their first 2 picks.

This is all from PFN's viewpoint but they have Watts 44th - so he gone prolly.

If we go heavy with CB/S we are de-rostering a lot of players. I wonder how many would accept the practice squad.

I predict that most of you will be disappointed with the Bucs’ pick.

Most of you who predict the Bucs pick are wrong.

I think our 2nd pick could be as good as our first pick - ask McShay about that for me.

Probably. But, it’s fun to talk it through and try to figure out their tendencies.

Feel free to put a name out there. Or, just looking forward to “I told you sos” tomorrow?

I’ll go ahead and say this, but for the record, I’ll probably be wrong, I predict the Bucs to shock the NFL world by move up to draft CB Will Johnson.

There’s nothing wrong with missing on a draft pick prediction. By pick 12, 99% of mocks are wrong lol

Would love to add Will, but big concerns around his medicals. Jeremiah’s mock yesterday had him falling out of the first.

No way we take Jihaad at 19 with his shoulder injury potentially requiring him to start season on PuP

Injuries suck and need evaluated on a case by case basis.

That said, he’ll be signing a multi year contract and will probably be splitting snaps at best as a rookie (behind LVD). Unless the medicals are truly horrific, a couple months on PUP wouldn’t deter me if he’s the best dude.

I don't mind picking DB with first two picks or the whole draft. But I hope it is not because of the reasoning above.

No, we don't have a solid rotation at EDGE. The only proven commodity based on 2024 production is....no one! We cannot assume Reddick at the age of 31 will revert back to double digit sacker on a D-line that has players who struggle to finish plays unlike the Eagles D-line.

As for the others, we cannot go into 2025, a make or break year for Bowles, counting on them to turn into studs. Nelson especially is subpar and his only impact on pass rush is when the opposing team chooses to leave him as a free rusher for inexplicable reasons. I've seen him neutralized even by TEs.

We need a OLB and a NT that show up during training camp and make Licht cut Nelson and Greg Gaines.

The edge rotation is a lot of things and Not ONE of them is solid. We don't know what version of Hasaan Reddick we signed at 30 years old. We don't know what we have in Braswell. Yaya declined in year 2. We know what we have in Nelson. He's okay but shouldn't be getting a ton of snaps.

We'd be wise to invest in a dynamic edge rusher if there's one there.

I think Johnson will drop to us due to bum knee. I think we will pass on him just like the teams ahead of us will, mainly because we will find a high impact player at a different position healthy and ready to start on day 1. Also Jahdae Barron is the favorite to be a Buc imo irrespective of if he fits the Bowles mold.

If the Interior defensive line does not create any movement the offensive tackles will buy enough time for the pass to get thrown.

If we cannot get to the QB with a four man rush, we will still look bad

Tetairoa McMillan is an interesting prospect. He’s going as high as top 7 in some mocks. also falling to the 20s in others.

I feel confident with a little (or a lot) better coverage and Reddick on the other side of YaYa instead of JTS we'll have more success making the QB uncomfortable.

I'm not going to scoff at an EDGE rusher in the first, but I feel the resources are better used on the back end.

We need a 2nd wave on defense in the trenches.

I think we're going to have a good/solid 1st wave of Diaby, Riddick, Vea, Kancey, and Hall. Our 2nd wave defense consist of Braswell, Nelson, and some randomly generated NPCs.

So drafting multiple edge and DTs should absolutely be on the table if not insisted upon.

In addition we also have holes in the secondary to fill both for depth and starting play.

Oh and we need a LVD replacement, ideally this year.

That's all to say we can nearly go defensive bpa each pick and we'll be targeting areas of weakness.

Finally, we also get to see how much Spytek played into our drafting success over the years with his departure.

We might be drafting the players which help us win a SB this year!!
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

I'm a big big fan. Kid has wheels. Kid can fly. He is sudden unlike Mccollum who has great straight line speed in theory. I don't know why he isn't a 1st round pick and is being mocked to go mid 2nd, but would love him there if he happens to fall to us in 2nd.

Offensive lineman wouldn't be a waste, but we have other needs for sure. Agree with everything else. Chances that Licht picks a WR in any draft is pretty high since he is pretty consistent at doing that. Would also say RB isn't a bad option either, but again we have other needs. My dark horse, a TE.

Also, we have enough cap space to trade for a player during the draft, throwing that in there.
