I’ll just do the entire season. You won’t watch it because you’re an insufferable hater but just play after play after play made by the QB avoiding pressure and either picking up first downs with his legs or throwing on the run.

All the pocket dimes are in there too. Worth about $4.10.
You're right, I won't watch, but for a different reason. The play in question was a turnover worthy play that he was lucky to have worked out. They very first clip in the video you posted was him sitting comfortably in the pocket and threw and high percentage pass to a guy who was open.
I posted that for the statistics at the top of the tweet. The second throw in the clip though is a window dot between 3 guys I believe. You'd probably say that's a turnover worthy play though and ding him for it.

Not magic or luck. It’s just a damn good play by a QB.
It was a turnover worthy plays that worked. You don't want to call it luck or magic, that's fine... but to call it "a damn good play by a QB", doesn't fit.
As someone else already stated, it was 4th down in a "need it" situation.

What would you have preferred he done?

That's a different argument, not one I'm making or arguing against. I'm simply saying that it was a turnover worthy play that he was lucky to have it work out. That's it. I'm not sure why this is hard to understand.

You don't watch a lot of football, do you.
Is this the “I have nothing else intelligent to say” trump card?

What does that mean?

You won’t give baker any credit for what he had to work with all year. The guy put up incredible numbers. Top 5 numbers.

Oh, ok. See that's weird because I made a statement of him getting lucky on a turnover worthy play. That if you do that often and lose it's luck... but magic when you consistently win. You asked if I wanted to see examples of it working... then you just show me highlights of random plays that don't fit the discussion. As I said, the very first play was him in a clean pocket (almost overthrowing),the ball to an open receiver. Literally, every single QB in the NFL (including backups and clipboard carries), can do that. The second play wasn't much different. Clean pocket, hitting an open receiver... lol, between 3 guys. The closest guy was 7 yards away!

The next play, again, clean pocket and hits one of the best WR's in the game with one-on-one coverage.

None of those plays are turnover worthy plays where he got lucky. All of them were plays that literally every QB in the NFL can make.

That makes a ton of sense. Thanks for pointing it out. I typically just check the newspaper on Monday mornings. Spot on.

I wondered how many members of the board were on that video. I like to think that sweet lady who congratulated Baker on his daughter lurks here and just shakes her head at how we can't all get along.

The Tampa Club in Downtown Tampa. It's off of the Hillsborough River.

Thanks! I would never have thought it was on the river. Hard to tell exactly what was in the background outside the windows.

I have him in my 2QB keeper league. I have Burrow, Stroud, & Penix as well. I can't keep Burrow, but I'm trying to figure out what to do at QB. I'm leaning towards Stroud & Penix. I got Stroud his rookie year in the 18th round and Penix this year in the 20th. Having a hard time justifying Mayfield in the 6th.

Yeah but Mahomes below JJ, Fields and Maye invalidates the whole list.

After he started talking about his fantasy team, I’m inclined to believe that might be a fantasy football ranking of QB’s. If it is, I can’t say if it’s reasonable or not because I don’t follow FF anymore.

It's a FANTASY QB list guys. Calm down. I know it's killing some of you to see Baker at #3, but from a fantasy perspective, his placement is deserved.

Sorry.

I mean, if you look up fantasy QB points in 2024, Baker is like 3rd or 4th. He being ranked 3rd on that 2025 fantasy list is perfectly reasonable given recent performance.

Baker hate-boners doesn't change this objective reality.

If this is truly a fantasy list, how in the hell is Jalen Hurts ranked just 7th? He's basically a TD guarantee every single week. 4 straight years with double digit rushing TDs.

Has nothing to do with Baker. This list is garbage. Justin Fields 9th?? Really?

We retire Drew. Resurrect Baker.
Drew didn’t win the Super Bowl until year 4 in New Orleans, but we’re on the right track here.

Lots of issues w that list, but I’ve seen Hurts anywhere from 7th to 12th in
fantasy scoring for most leagues last year. He was 11th in scoring in my main league.

Interesting comp.

There are of course multiple other factors at play, but Sean Payton > Bowles.
