Creamsicles for the Seattle game?

It’s just an away throwback look good, especially the orange pants.
Just a rumors for now

Both Seattle and Tampa Bay joined the league in the 1976 season, so this game makes a lot of sense.

Welp, as it turns out, Barton IS the one who fucked up and caused the fumble against Washington, not Baker:
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
The New Union will correct that mistake.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
I think he's referring to the missed snap count on the 3rd and short when they were in the red zone likely going to pick it up and get a go ahead TD. Instead it was a TFL and we had to settle for a FG to tie it. Never saw the ball again.
The snap on the fumble was fine. Timing between McMillan/Baker was off for whatever reason. I don't think that one was on Barton?

And in what way is THIS on Barton?

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
Yeah, either JTS or Warner or somebody broke this down aready. McMillan began his motion about a half beat early (a timing issue he dealt with all season, along with White and Turner). I would also question Coen's decision to even call the play in the shadow of his own goalposts. Of course, Baker could've audibled out of the play (I have a feeling that Brady would have, for example), but regardless, the onus on that play was mostly on McMillan.

Baker, sorry bro. You're a dawg.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
Just fyi: Over the Cap currently has Baker's valuation at $40.7M/yr. Spotrac has him at $60.1M/yr.
Also, just another factoid: Grizzard will be Baker's 9TH (NINTH!!!!!) OC of his career.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
You’re wasting your time. Baker isn’t going anywhere; the Bucs will offer him a big contract,

Eh, I'm not really trying to do anything, other than just post some possibly interesting info; I'm a little bored here in the Valley of the Flaming Rotisserie Oven, er I mean, Sun.
But I do agree that they'll re-sign Bake. I'm sure it'll be very team-friendly as well. I am most curious to see how many years it'll end up being, more than the $$$.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-quarte ... throw-2024While playing within the scheme can be conflated with a negative perception, that timing and rhythm in the passing game tends to produce excellent results with sound execution.
Baker Mayfield’s transition in Tampa Bay is a prime example, as his time to throw has decreased over the past two seasons compared to his previous three, resulting in increased production. This past season, Mayfield recorded 335 attempts in under 2.5 seconds — more than in any season he played outside of Tampa. He posted an 85.8% adjusted completion percentage and 29 touchdowns on such plays in 2024, both of which led the NFL.

What's the negative perception of playing within the scheme? We're better when he does this because we have great athletes at our skills positions that can make plays after the catch.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 11:56 amhttps://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-quarte ... throw-2024While playing within the scheme can be conflated with a negative perception, that timing and rhythm in the passing game tends to produce excellent results with sound execution.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
Right. If the scheme is working, how could that be considered a negative? Of course, it is nice to have QB that is able to work outside of the scheme if/when plays breakdown. But that should be the exception, not the rule.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
It's like faulting QBs for not being Brett Favre or Patrick Mahomes. Brady, Manning, Brees, most of the greats operated within their system at an elite level. The difference is those guys made adjustments and changes presnap to get exactly what they wanted. I'd rather a QB put the offense in position to succeed presnap than have someone running for their life snap after snap.

Lord knows we've seen enough of the latter over the years in Tampa.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 10:05 amIt's like faulting QBs for not being Brett Favre or Patrick Mahomes. Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
The "off platform" guys seem to get more recognition and have metrics like QBR that rate that kind of player higher.

Re: Welcome Baker Mayfield
I think the idea that having less time to throw means the line isn't doing its job and isn't giving the QB the time he needs. In some instances may just mean that the QB doesn't need much time to find his intended target and isn't using the time he may have.
One is a bad thing while the other would be playing within the scheme.
I could be wrong but this is what I got out of that

Although I do not take the Pewter Report seriously, I found it to be an interesting read.
https://www.pewterreport.com/bucs-story ... ield-2025/
“The more likely path is that the two sides revisit an extension in 2026.”
By the year 2025, he will surpass Tom Brady as the greatest quarterback in Bucs history
