Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
Jackson is one of the worst. He'll point things out that fit his agenda. Case & point, the play where there are no less than 6 other Bucs players who have an opportunity to make a tackle yet he points out White, who was covering the other side of the field away from the play.
Do a video like this on Britt and he's nowhere near the play.

Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
D White's peak was untapped. He had the ability to be a HoF guy. But his low was causing guys like Britt to replace him, and for 2 other teams to come to the same conclusion.Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 5:36 pmJackson is one of the worst. I'm just glad we had him for our SB run when he was still ascending.
Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
I think there's room for overlap. But we did get a glimpse of what Bowles was going for and what a defense with that kind of center piece can be.
We won't be that. We'll have to be something else. But that's alright, we'll figure it out. Different ways to win.
I love Dennis, I do, but even I'd be surprised if he has that kind of ceiling. I think he maybe tops off as an LVD. Not prime LVD mind you, current lost a step but still better than most LVD. Which is still a high bar.

Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
I’d settle for Dennis just making the routine right play most of the time.

You know who else did the exact same going through Fancio and Ryans' hands? This guy

Touché, but that's a $2.5/year insurance deal.

Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
Apologies, been on vacation. The quote from me was misleading if you missed the context of 'very sorry squad'. I meant offensive players, thought that would be somewhat obvious since neither QB affects the defensive play after all and the 'very sorry squad' was referencing the offense around Mahomes as pointed out by someone else. I don't think anyone's calling the KC defense of the past couple of seasons 'very sorry'. So, 2 offensive All-Pros to 1 (if we're being generous and including a ST guy on offense for Brady).Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 9:36 am100% Wrong.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 9:22 am
That ‘very sorry squad’ had more first team all pros than Brady’s first three SB squads combined. And reading comprehension helps. I’m talking about the performance on the field, ie stats relative to their own stats. Brady’s don’t drop off much compared to Mahomes when he’s got journeymen level players around him.
The 2024 Chiefs had 3 1st team All-Pros: Joe Thuney, Creed Humphrey and Chris Jones.
The 2001 New England Patriots had 0 1st team All-Pros.
The 2003 New England Patriots had 3 1st team All-Pros: Ty Law, Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison.
The 2004 New England Patriots had 2 1st team All-Pros: Adam Vinitari and Richard Seymour.
And again, this goes back to whether you're being objective or not. Are you comparing Mahomes 1st 8 to Brady's 1st 8 or Mahomes 1st 8 to Brady's entire 21? That context does matter.
And again, not comparing any set of seasons between the two qbs. Brady got better performances from those around him when the player's skill sets were not the greatest than Mahomes has in his time in the league when playing with similarly less talented players. Put simply in comparing their first eight seasons if you like: Mahomes has had 9 first team all-pros on offense in his first 8 seasons not including himself. Brady had 2 in 8 seasons in his 8th with Randy Moss and Matt Light. Brady was 1st team All-Pro himself once, also in 2008. Mahomes did it twice.
Re: Baker Mayfield: PAID
Patriots with Brady and Belichick were winning machines. They were exceptional at nothing, other than being 1 point better than their opposition most games, and repeating these nail biting performances over and over again in the playoffs and the SB. When Brady finally had outstanding offensive weapons, they put up record setting performances and went undefeated until the SB.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 12:52 pmApologies, been on vacation.
