Gholston was/is a Goodfella. Just showed up, played solid ball for over a decade, and off to being that guy for another squad that needs him.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
The New Union will correct that mistake.

JUST the DL coach? How big are HS staffs these days? Mine won states with like 3 coaches who were part time teachers.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
It varies widely and will depend on where you draw the line at staff. The size of your school, budget, and success of your program all play a factor. I am spoiled with ten coaches on my high school varsity squad:
- Me (HC)
- OC and DC
- QB, RB, WR/TE, OL
- DL, LB, DB
At our leanest, I wore multiple hats with a staff of five including me. That was rough.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
HS football staffs in FL are typically between 5 and 8 including the head coach. There are some schools who have more. Many of them are not paid.
Same in basketball. It really varies from school to school. Some schools have a head coach and one assistant who is also the JV coach. Other programs have 5-7 on the staff including the head coach. The number of coaches has absolutely no relationship to how good a given program is in my experience which, particularly in basketball, I see a lot of games.

Great play, but I still don't want to see the big guy dropping into coverage very often.

Don't tread on me

Any time Vea drops into coverage the QB and offensive line collectively thank Todd Bowles.

After much spirited research it was Sean Tucker that fumbled when playing the Giants.

Apparently Zyons agent is in Tampa trying to negotiate a contract extension
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
I hope Licht can resist the urge to make him the highest paid at his position ... at least let this year run out so we can see what we have in the rookies before throwing cap money away.

Zyon's agent is Drew Rosenhaus lol. We sure he wasn't here just to say hey to all the guys he represents on the Bucs?

I’m sure it has. That doesn’t invalidate what I said though.Doctor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 1:17 pmYou know it's literally worked right.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 9:24 am Any time Vea drops into coverage the QB and offensive line collectively thank Todd Bowles.

Bucs media dropped a new In the Current episode dealing with the draft and the rookies. Features some of the interviews they had with them before the draft and some of the deliberations they had leading up to the draft. Good stuff.

Especially since, as I've shared on here before, I inadvertently set fire to my girlfriend (now wife's) apartment the second that happened. That cost a penny or two but was worth both of them.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
When I first saw this, I thought it was a great idea... until I scrolled up and saw that it's to be a player, not an assistant coach.
Maybe not a bad idea though, Connor Bazelak might be a coach in 3 years (maybe less). I went to Kent State for 2 years, so I have some allegiance to the MAC Conference. I watch basketball and baseball, but I hear about football players. Bazelak, to me, came off as a guy who would be an elite QB if he had talent. He's very cerebral. He knows the game. He knows the position. He knows how to play it perfectly. The problem is that he doesn't have the ability to execute. He's Kellen Moore. I don't think we ever want to see Bazelak on the field... the sidelines, yes, but never under center.
