Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Jerry has said he already was offered the highest contract and no deal was made. Did he want way higher than that offer?
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Do players agree to a restructure clause in their contracts?

Last night I dreamed Micah Parsons went to the Bucs. It was so vivid and so real I had to actually get online and make sure it didn't happen. Let's cross our fingers that I am an oracle or something. I think you might be the only other person here who understands that this kind of like our defense getting its own mini Tom Brady

Why would we pay a mini Brady way more than the real Brady?

“Helped”? You do know that she was worth several times more than what Tom’s total earnings were, right?

When is the last time/how often does a team that gives up multiple first round picks for an established player "win" the trade?

Handcuffed. I think you joined more recently, but I used to admin the joint; handle back end stuff, and deal with QoL requests.

Gotcha. yeah, i joined in '23. Followed Baker over. Becoming a fan of TB now. Always liked certain players on the team over the years (the usuals like Alstott, Sapp, Rice, Dunn, Nickerson, Giles, Cadillac Williams, etc.) and was a Gruden fan as well, so off and on I've followed TB, but now that Baker's here I've made TB my NFC team these past two seasons.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Micah Parsons has 52.5 sacks, he has one in the playoffs - guess what team it was.

There's speculation out there of a deal between the Bucs and Bears regarding Rachaad White for a 5th. That sounds absurd to me. Is this just internet (mainly Bears fans), bullcrap or are you guys hearing similar? I'm not really seeing anything from the Bucs side of things.

It would make sense if they wanted to make room for Sean Tucker and Josh Williams to see time on the field. Plus, White is a FA after the season. So it'd be nice to get something in return before he goes.CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:39 pm There's speculation out there of a deal between the Bucs and Bears regarding Rachaad White for a 5th. Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
I'm fine with moving him, I just think that at this point in time (meaning, just before the season started), I'd rather have him than a 5th round pick next year. Last year, when we finally had good run blocking on the line, he was a decent runner. I'm ok with him as our lead guy if something happens to Irving... not so sure about Tucker. Tucker seems to be more of a JAG than a competent lead back if needed. As for Williams, I mean, I'm all for giving the kid a shot, I'd rather see him here than Tucker.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:44 pmIt would make sense if they wanted to make room for Sean Tucker and Josh Williams to see time on the field. Yeah, the buying team would be in the situation where he could be a 1-year rental, but that's not our problem. I'm fine with trading White today, but I'd want a 2nd or a 3rd... a 5th isn't enough.

He’s such a good blocker and dynamic receiver. I think it would hurt us to trade him. If he has a good year maybe you get a comp pick anyway.
Williams has looked good as a returner so they’ll keep 4 RBs I’d think. Wright got cut.

Yeah, that's my thinking as well about the comp pick. If he does well, and I think he will, the worst we'd get would probably be a 4th, since contract matters in the formula... could even get a 3rd.
Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
Agreed. I love White. He has such a great nose for the first down and so good in the 3rd down and 4 minute drill.
He is, unfortunately, on a contract year. We could simply love those behind him enough to move on and get a return, but not I'd rather just have him for this year's run if I'm honest.

Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
We aren't getting a 3rd round comp for a backup RB. He'd have to sign a significant long term deal for a lot of money AND we'd have to all but sit out of FA for that to happen.CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 4:38 pm Yeah, that's my thinking as well about the comp pick. Re: 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offseason Thread
I would be fine dealing White.
Irving is the unquestioned starter, Tucker looks good in relief, Johnson has been flashing. That's a solid 3-deep at RB, and carrying four seems unlikely. If we cut Johnson, the lowest man on the totem pole, I have no doubt that someone else would sign him to their roster, stashing him away on the practice squad seems unlikely to work. Ditto with Tucker.
Getting compensation for White now is a good move for the Bucs. Moreover, it would give him (potentially) a better chance to showcase his skillset prior to him entering free agency next year, as he wouldn't have to feed off Bucky's scraps.
Everybody wins?
